IKS Kaarg in Sector Space

Is there any point to the IKS Kaarg that's parked in Omega Leonis sector space? What is it supposed to do? By the map symbol it looks like its supposed to be some kind of social hub / outpost equivilent. At first I thought it might be tied to a specific mission but haven't come across anything of the sort so far.

Is there a reason its just parked there? Is it the Chief Engineer's day off or something? :D

    I would love to see it used in a special mission. Maybe a PvE one where the ship is suffering a mutiny caused by an Undine infiltrator, perhapse?

    There are two other examples of ships parked in space in STO, the S.S. Azura, which is effectively a part of the Fed tutorial (how a "real Mission" works), and the U.S.S. Phlox, which is a part of a Fleet Action.

    I'm hoping the I.K.S. Kaarg is part of the upcoming KDF Tutorial.

    I think it has to do something with the Federation being allowed inside the Q'nos sector, because it appears as a DSE on the minimap...

    I've been here since before KDF were a playable faction in the game. It has not been part of anything related to KDF content to the best of my knowledge. The possibility of it being used for something is definitely there. To the best of my knowledge is it there because it is there because it is there. You're not missing out on any sort of hidden information.

    I could and might be wrong. My memory is not what it used to be.

    Well, it hasn't been there quite that long...
    It was added on one of the updates, months ago, I forget which now, but it was not there at game launch.
    It was always assumed it would become part of something other than decoration, but, this is the Empire, not the UFP... :D Maybe in Season 6 or so...

    I'd been planning a fly-by to see what it was all about... and seeing as it's got nothing.... I won't waste my time.

    I can see it being used for DOFF missions. Espionage or somesuch. As well as more substantial and proper Klingon missions.
