    In all Seriousness thoug, what you're trying to do is impossible... As stated above the forums are free for all, and as long as they refer to the forum guidelines, theres nothing you can do to prevent people from posting here.

    Also, there a extremely low percentage of the STO players who actually visit the forums, so even IF there would be no FED's posting here, you'd never get anywhere near a exact figure.

    BTW, MY main is FED, but I have 2 KDF chars, so I figure I am allowed to be here, as I play them on a semi-regular basis.

    1. People can if they have respect what a lot off people misses these days
    2. If there are no KDF reading the forums I do not understand why my last Klingon tread had so much KDF ideas on my subject
    3. And from this stage its not an forum rule but its having respect for a group off players who only likes to play KDF and not the federation

    Speaking of respect... you're not reading what I am writing.

    What I am saying is not that there are no KDF in the forums (as made obvious by the clear lack of "there are no KDF visiting the forums" statements), but rather that you may get 10, 20, 30 KDF players in here, but thoose are still only a fraction of the real numbers of STO players, as most never visit the forums.

    if you only want KDF players to answer then this would have been better in the KDF subsection of the forums.

    as others have said creating a thread that says only KDF players can post here is not going to go over well with players or even the mods.

    and as others have said not everybody who plays the game will come to the forums. if 30 people post here saying they have KDF as their main it tells you nothing because you dont know the number of people in total who play the game or the number of people who have not posted their comments. this thread is largely pointless because what ever information you get does not tell you the whole picture.

    I think you've had a sense of humour failure. To me it looks like the OP is trying to raise awareness of KDF in a light hearted manner which is suitable for general discussion. However you're doing exactly what he's complaining about which is trying to put the downers on a thread that doesn't directly support the majority of the players.

    It would have been more polite to let him have his fun and not 'rain' on the parade.

    Next I'd like to address this idea that's been gathering momentum on this board and others which is that forums don't represent the 'true' players. This is a logical fallacy and an example of poor thinking typified by the 'no true Scotsman' idea: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_true_scotsman

    While the forums are a subset of the playerbase they do represent the playerbase to a sufficient degree that one can use them for a good enough estimate once one takes into account the typical biases amongst forum posters. Arguing that a forum is entirely unrepresentative of the playerbase is an obvious logical fallacy.

    and lastly, I do play mostly KDF.

    You know there is a "Klingon Gameplay" forum which would be a better place for this post. I personaly wish to see the Kzinti rise again!

    Wish it were possible for the Kzinti to be in the game, especially in the form they were planned for a 'Trek novel ("Lions of the Night") that was never made.

    yeah we should definatly bring Kzinti into the game, we can recruit Soran to lead starfleet in a campaign against them.

    players generally dont like being told 'i only want a certain group to post here' its also something the mods have stated as well. the forums are for everybody. in fact asking only KDF players and not feds limits the information you get. If 100 people post and 30 say klingons you can at least guess 30% of the players play klingons as their main. it wont be that accurate but it tells you something. as this thread currently stands it tells you nothing.

    i never said that the forums dont represent true players. what i said is that not everybody who plays the game posts here. there could be 20'000 KDF players for all i know. having 30 or 40 people post here tells you nothing in the grand scheme. I like facts and figures as much as anyone but i fail to see what the point of this thread is the way its set out. i would argue the same if it had been about fed players.

    maybe it is light-hearted, and maybe im being pedantic but if your going to try and gather information then at least try and do it properly.

    Just try to figure out how many KDF is there on game play .
    But debating on who is or who is not aloud is bashing the respect and the tread .
    But it was meant as a small joke, because I can't tell anyone not to react or not .
    Well I leave it to that just like to know who is playing with Klingon toon .
    Just like to check if the KDF lacks people to make content for and maybe I used the wrong words to ask the people next time I certainly will think this true !!!

    No feds allowed, hm ? Thankfully, months of therapy have convinced me that the Federation is a fictional organisation and therefore I can´t be one of them. I´m also not a Klingon, a genetic test showed that with absolute certainty. :D

    I don´t consider any of my characters to be my "main". I created them all out of fun and enjoy playing them. I have currently 5 fed chars and 4 KDF chars, and I´m planning to create a Gorn after Season 4 goes live. :)

    Major General 1: S'ural....an alien made up to look like a Klingon. Tac officer...Kinda fun too.

    Seriously though, can I borrow a couple of people's hands? I don't have enough to properly facepalm to this thread. If you wanted a KDF only post, then put it in the one place only KDF go to. Otherwise I think you will find that the KDF that do reply to this thread will be a minority compared to the Feds that reply to it. We even have an Undine and two Romulans that showed up.

    The forums aren't a place where you can put up a "no boys allowed" sign and expect that to work. If anything it only invites party crashers. You should have just put up a thread asking people if they have a KDF toon. Then you wouldn't be getting so much grief.

    That being said I will be the third person to spread RSE poison. I would never play them but they would be a cool faction in the game that keeps getting pushed back for no real reason that I can see apart from whining.

    I have a Fed "main" and a KDF "main" I spend a lot of time on both, both are maxed out, and both are well rounded. I do love playing my KDF one though, even with the lack of content. Mostly because the Guramba is a sexy beast. The Romulan alt I mentioned is science, she's not a happy person. Don't say hi, she'll shoot you :p

    My main character is KDF and I have several other characters on the KDF side. I do believe I have one vulcan fed character lowbie only used to check out the new fed stuff that catches my interest. I mostly play on KDF side. If I was to put it in percentages I would say I play 99% KDF and 1% fed. :D.

    Besides my fleet is KDF 100% since the release of the game. :)
