A. Get rid of this worthless ability so that Varanus captains don't need to lose a valuable engineering console for it.

B. Make it a universal console (eg. MVAM) so anyone with half a brain can elect not to use it.
or
C. Make the ability actually useful. Drastically higher repair rate and not sharing a cool-down with mine weapons would a good place to start.
Better yet, do B + C.
Intrepid is the best science ship in the game (best turn rate, best boff layout, easily the best ability in the game), and ablative still desperately needs a nerf (the previous "nerf" actually made it stronger!) yet on the Klingon side we have a poor man's DSSV -- 1 less engineering slot with absolutely nothing to show for it. At the very least just give us a non-gimped DSSV clone please!
I'm of the opinion the KDF shouldn't have Science Ships at all (and that likewise, Feds should not have Carriers), but since we already have it.. I agree 100% with a combination of B and C. This ship is a complete waste of space as it currently stands.
Bah, feds have sci ships, kdf has bops. But....i would also like to see all special abiltieis as consoles, so everyone has choice if to use it or not....

News flash: MVAM is a better escort than the BoP. Intrepid is a better sci ship than the BoP. About the only advantage KDF has left are the carriers.... but those always tend to do better against pugs than they do organized teams (in fact, the fighter spam is probably too powerful and definitely too annoying used when against pugs, hence why a lot of players who aren't good PvPers are always complaining about it)
The biggest issue with special abilities is that there are only two that are worth losing a console over: MVAM mode (especially since you can chose which slot to lose), and Ablative. Of all the special abilities though, none are as completely worthless as hull repair drones.

To be fair, the detection grid has its situational uses against cloak heavy teams. You can also use it as a tool to lag people out

Yes, grid is "useful" in FvK pvp only. And only sometimes, because you need to be science officer also to have sensor scan. For engi or tac the ability is somewhat wasted, unless you have CPB which it at least boosts a bit.

Ye thats probably true. I just dread giving klingons intrepid clone, because feds would want carrier. And i trully hate npcs in combat. Not because they are powerful or OP, but because they clutter screen, make it shake, are noisy and make me headaches.

Maybe something like Dampening Field and maybe one Hazard Emitters to the most damaged target every minute or so. give the platform some shields and hull to make it last a while, and then we might be done.

so ask for anything on the kdf aslong as it does not involve diversity within the fleet of ships, do not ask for a ship in the klingon fleet that you couldnt pin into the original series of startrek or deepspace nine because we all know that klingons one day racked up with this fleet of ships and never once made a technological jump or had some of there faction mates actually contribute technology to create new ships or that when worf came over he didnt divuldge a shed load of stuff on how fed ships worked and how that tech could be used. not to mention that the klingons themslevs have never been shy on stealing tech and that you know for a fact that if a house got hold of some tech they wouldnt jump at the chance to create a new type of ship that kicked the *** of starfleet.

kdf are spawned in the fires of repetative dse's that you burn out as fast as you can and in pvp. kdf have no option but tobe hard as nails as most the time they level alone with no one to watch there backs.
it has nothing todo with the ships they use it has all todo with the mentality of the player by there faction.
Edit, ps just for your knowledge i pvp in a sci ship on the kdf side and in no way am i weak, i do the borg dse's with feds and get told all the time that i saved them or good fighter, do not underestimate the power of a sci ship, they are the only ships who can strip a ship of its power, disable its engines, knock shields out and never have to use a boff todo it. used right a sci ship is the biggest preditor in the stars.

There's a reason 5 intrepid / sci captain setups are deadly in arena pvp.
I've been in a cap and hold the other day with nearly all sci vessels against a mixed kling pug. We killed them over and over and over. They had about 10 kills total while our kill numbers were in the hundreds.
