orion ship

Hi i quit a while back and recently have stated playing again. Now i usually fly the carriers but i also have this orion ship. how well does this ship perform? i already bought it so i am stuck with it lol, but just wondering how useful it is.

    To my knowledge it functions very similarly to the Federation star cruiser, while having the ability to call in a small squadron of Orion interceptors after its hull health reaches a certain point.

    It's a good stout cruiser. Turns slow so it really is only good for a beam boat.

    It's excellent for tanking/healing, but it's too slow to use anything but beams really, and isn't geared towards DPS as such. It's not that much tougher than a Negh'var, but because it has a science ensign slot instead of engineering, you're less likely to have conflicting cooldowns on your Bof powers. I used the Negh'var because it could mount cannons, cloak, and was tough as nails, but that was with my tac officer. For a healer/tank I think the Orion cruiser edges it slightly in terms of ability.

    Its the best healing ship on the KDF side/in the entire game.

    How would a Science Officer do in the Marauder, compared to an Engineer?

    not very well. It doesnt turn well for snb, and speccing into both the engineer tree (for the ship skills) and the science tree (for the captain skills) is difficult. If youre going to go sci cruiser, atleast go neghvar or vorcha in my opinion.

    I would like to see the Orion Corevette added at Tier 1. I would also like to see the Brigand Cruiser added at either tier 2, 3, or 4.

    I have the ship, and I can call the fighters whenever I want. Unfortunately they leave as soon as your enemy is destroyed. With a cooldown of 3 minutes, it´s rather inconvenient. :(

    I´d love to see the Orion Patrol cruiser transformed into a real carrier. One bay that allows you to call either fighters or an Orion corvette. We have a science carrier and a tactical carrier, time for a cruiser carrier. :)
