So there are a lot of cool armors and Kits in this game. I really like that each class has it's own unique style and each kit has it's own look that gets more added to it as it levels. BUT..... What happens when i'm max level? All those additions become way too bulky and impractical. Now i know that some people will bring up the disable visuals feature. I know it's there, i like it, it's cool, and i use it. But what i would much prefer is something that let me pick which look they had.

Lotro has is, DCUO has the option, i'm sure there are more out there but let's keep it simple. I'd love to be able to have the Functionality of my MK X kits WITHOUT that weird Bulk shoulder armor the tacs are stuck with. I would love for my engineer to not be toting around a huge backpack (although my Dr looks awesome in the Holoarmor for Science). Can't i keep the Functionality of those kits but choose the look of a lower level kit? Some of those kits had an awesome yet simplistic look that would look perfect on my captain.

Would it be possible to add this feature to the tailor? To keep it simple it could be an option field that let you Choose the kits appearance based on Rank rather than individual kits getting their own separate field. That way no matter which kit you eqquipped it still looked like the captain level kit or the lieutenant commander level kits.

Does any one else want to wear a less bulky and awkward looking kit with out losing the Functionality of their rank? I'm curious as to what you think.

AIUI, one of the medium-term projects is to unlink the visuals from kits and make them costume options.

I like the utility belt and control vembrace looks of the lower level (Mk IV and under) kits, since they don't get in the way of the uniforms.

There could be some really useful pieces being added if they do that, but i think that our BOs should also get the same options as their captain.

    Live long and prosper.

I read that a while ago and I'm not too impressed with that choice. I've always felt that visual changes should be part and parcel of the cost-benefit decision making when choosing what items to equip.

Wel running as my tactical officer, it's just way too bulky for me to believe it would be of any use in close combat AS the Close combat mk X. a lot of the Tac kits just look like football shoulder guards which seems impractical as they dont actually defend you like the Armor does.
