I think its only fair as you did mega tease in your recent post in how saying how good she looks in game. I feel a tad un easy at the moment not knowing what she will look like in game. Many thanks.

Or they could save the full reveal for when they put it in game, which would be much better. So DStahl, please do NOT show the full final view until you do the in-game reveal event.

if you don't want to see the new ship don't look at the links for the image(if they realese one that is) in stead of giving this thread a negative vibe by saying DO NOT realese images. If you disagree just say.

Their statement was most reasonable. Theres no negative vibe to it, a valid opinion was presented. Its not fair if only you can make a request of the devs.
I too am kind of hoping for an in-game reveal. Not too set on it, though. If I see it before I won't be disappointed.
they still have to do the whole community thing where we decide what the class will be called, but I agree I would rather see it when it gets in game than have them post a pic.

he/she was not giving a negative vibe. they were expressing their opinion on the matter just like you was. you cant start a thread and expect some people not to say things you dont agree with.
you yourself said in your own title - show the final image, no early concept art. so how is asking for no early concept art that many people might want to see any more negative than asking for the final shot to remain in game.
these are all just points of view and we are all entitled to express them.
I agree with all of the above, ingame reveal... I actually didn't even want the pics they've posted so far out. I think the winning design should have been a tight sealed secret until the ingame reveal but that's just me. The luster is sadly already tarnished. C'est la vie
Secondly, um... did it occur to you that it probably isn't even finished yet? I'm willing to bet Dstahl is just as excited about as we all are and simply blew his top trying in vain to keep it a secret, thus the pic and status updates lol.
I think it's pretty clever how they do it.
Sure, they get a lot of negative comments at the moment with the half finished pictures.
Could it be it's a calculated lowering of expectations?
And even for those of us that can sort of see where they are heading with this, will be blown out of the water by the final reveal?
Ok, I stand corrected. I apologize for my eager ness to see the new ship. I just don't want to be dissapointed with the final ship. Sorry if I came over harsh.

Given all the grief they had over the winning design and the "Dervish?!?" incident. It would probably be prudent for them to skip that part of the process and just name it themselves. The fanatic backlash would be no greater and it would save them the fuss of having to deal with another controversial competition.
I'm actually enjoying seeing the design process evolve, it's also really nice that the fans are being able to give input on the ships design as well via feedback. If people don't want to follow that process, then they don't have too, no need to restrict people that do want to see it from being able to.
Perhaps they could add 'spoiler' tags to the design process instead? Instead of posting the pictures of it on the front page, just have an ASDB logo or something, that way people that don't want to have the surpirse spoiled don't see it, only if you click to read the article will you see the pitures of the ship, I think that would keep both camps happy?
*Edit* Also, isn't it a bit hypocritical to start a thread like this whilst having an image of the Enterprise-F design as your signiture?
On the contrary, I'm enjoying these dev diaries on designing the next Enterprise. It's nice to see something evolve from a sketch to an in-game ship over time, seeing how much effort has been put into it. I'd much prefer an in game reveal when the time is right.
I want to see the final product as much as anybody, but I see no need to rush it before they're ready.
Or they could save the full reveal for when they put it in game, which would be much better. So DStahl, please do NOT show the full final view until you do the in-game reveal event.
Anyone who doesnt want to see it early can not look. Its not like someone is going to come to your house and force you to look at it. If you lack self control, that is a personal problem
I wouldn't mine watching the design evolve as it's tweaked, but I do relish the excitement of cruising around a shipyard in-game in a small shuttle to finally be able to see the finished product...ya know, sort of like TMP when they finally showed the rebuild and Kirk just stood at the window in awe.
I want to stand at the window in awe and get goosebumps looking at a bunch of pixels thrown together in the shape of a starship.

oh... i would DIE if that happened! it would be great to see the Enterprise-F huge in our viewer, and it would be a great Trek nod at the same time!
though... i have to admit i want a peek at the final design right now as well... must be patient, must be patient...

I agree with this...... the "Special mission" should have a no win situation for the player/s at some point with an epic cutscene of the USS Enterprise F warping in to save your backside...... some nice dramatic music to go with it....

Pretty much agreed with Suricata here. I'm really enjoying the Dev diaries and seeing how the ship is proceeding from the original concept sketch to the final design that we'll eventually see in game. I don't think that there's any rush to see the final iteration of the ship. We already know that some people are going to love to design and others will hate it. I'm sure that I'll dislike some elements of the final design, but as it stands, I'm enjoying seeing how it has been developed.

Once a full reveal is done you won't be able to avoid it, it will be on mmo sites, stoked and other places, it isn't a click or don't. I'm not going to stop reading everything, I'm fine with the partials, I'd just rather they do the reveal like a feature episode where we get the ' wows' in game.

Oi. There is no need for that.
No need for what?

Until the official name comes out, I'm calling it the Cryptic-class.

I would say the Ihle class.......
Yes this would be cool. Especially if they could show the inner struts and rigging that are the bones of the ship.
