Question reguarding BOP Refit

I thought I read somewhere that the BOP refit had been nerfed beyond recognition, I am wondering what exactly was done to it? I really like the ship design over the regular bop so knowing what is broke or has been nerfed would help alot, thank you.

The T5 B'rel has an issue with being made visible while cloaked from heals. So if someone slaps Hazard on you, it will make you visible for 15 seconds (without shields I may add). Also when you fire torpedoes it will take you out of cloak for 3 seconds without shields.

Also I was hoping Chang would quote Shakespeare like This anytime I used my torpedoes while cloaked :(

Ouch, ok, was hoping it wasnt as bad as the person made it sound, I was wrong. :(

As bad as it may sound, I still fly it and love it! It's fast and turns better than anything...even the other BoP. Pick a good BOff layout and have fun! :D

This is the only ship I will fly till I get my T5 D7...unless something truly Klingon and unique comes out first.

I would probably use it if it had a normal battle cloak.

I have fun with the ship, its really a great hit and run ship. turns on a dime. And has pretty good dps and speed. So get a good boff layout, and cause havoc. And dont stay around to long in pvp match in furball.
Just hit and run. Oh and you do not cloak when you drop mines.

Well I'll post mine but some might think it's a crazy build but I love it! My build is made to just add confusion to the battleground.

    I'm a Tac Captain

Cm. Tac: Omega 3, Beam Overload 3, Beam Overload 2 and Tac Team 1
LtCm. Tac: High Yield Torp 3, High Yield Torp 2 and Tac Team 1
Lt. Eng: Eng Team 2 and Power to Aux 1 (this will change most likely to RSP 1 or Power to Damp 1and Power to Engines 1)
Lt. Sci: Tractor Repulse 1 and Polarize Hull 1

    *added*
This build isn't for everyone. It has very low survivability but works great for Hit n Runs :D

    and for PvE?

That really depends on what you want to do. With solo PvE, I use this build and have no problems. You might have to cloak or run away if it gets really bad but the good news is, you have full uni BOff slots so you can heal fast and get back in.

I have never used this in group End Game stuff so I can't help you there. My guess is a Vor'cha would be better for that....good DPS and Support along with nice hull and turn rate.

Although...I did find this build to be nice for PvE back when I used a Hegh'ta. (this was a long time ago and I like heavy tac skills)

Cm. Tac: Omega 3, Beam Overload 3, Beam Overload 2 and Tac Team 1
LtCm. Tac: High Yield Torp 3, High Yield Torp 2 and Tac Team 1
Lt. Sci: TSS 2 and Tractor 1
Lt. Sci: Hazard 2 and Polarize Hull 1

Depends on what you class as bad and how you want to use it to be fair.
I use mine just for the sole purpose of causing havoc and it works really well for that.

If you thought you could just sit there a HYT like crazy, then yea, it is bad for that, however...

Tac/Sci/Eng teams you remain cloaked, mines (with or without skills) you remain cloaked.

    3 Seconds decloak skills, used properly can wreak havoc and you can survive, examples are;

    Gravity Well,
    Photonic Shock Wave,
Sensor Scramble ( though I'd be close so it hits quickly )
Viral Matrix ( same as scramble )

Or basicly any insta-work skills you only get the 3 second decloak, timed skills however you get the 3 seconds + duration of the skill.

You can also use it as a normal BoP with normal BoP loadouts and skills.

Personally, I go with the up close havoc style, with Aux 125, even Sci ships have problems seeing you as long as you do not try to go to fast (50% or less speed), Tricobalt torps are funny for pushing people about combo with shock wave.

Gravity well them in, shock wave them back out, and 1 person gets a tri up the backside to push them about a bit more. thinking of adding the tractor mines to then pin said person while I make my escape :)

So all in all, it depends on how you want to use it that will define how good/ bad it is

Yup if you use your abilties you decloak for a few.

What worse is your doing the klingon daily and your BO remind you to jam the communication you decloak.

You think with as little stuff on klingon side they be able to test thing. What a point of specail power the lets you do a few things while cloak when you declaok when bo on your ship tells you something.

Yeah i know there aware of it but the answer we get to it some day is not acectable in the sorry state it currently in. I level my klingon for this ship and found it nothing but frustations.

At least if they made this power a console we coudl remove it till the fix it. But know console are only for the federation side. Klingons get nothing but have test stuff that buggy.

I'm new to leveling a KDF character past Commander.

Does the retrofit BoP only have the 2 costumes? Or are can you use any of the higher-end BoP costumes on it?

    yes,
no eta on when they will be looking into fixing it so nobody has faith in the ship and cryptic wonders why nobody is buying kdf ships from the cstore so cryptic doesn't make anymore kdf ships for the cstore.

If cryptic would just tell us "Sorry folks, it is too hard to do" and gives it just regular battlecloak with better armor, i would love it.

I know cryptic if fixing regular cloak soon but they haven't said a thing about enhanced battle cloak

I really like the look of the B'Rel retrofit compared to the other Tier Five BoPs. I think the new variant they made is also very cool. In my opinion, it does fairly well in PvP and PvE.

My build is usually a Tactical Commander with two rapid fire cannon powers, one torpedo power, and tactical team, a Lt. Commander Engineer and Lieutenant Engineer with various hull and shield heals, and a science officer with hazard emitters and science team. In PvP, I'm choosy about my targets, but I can swoop in and deal plenty of damage, I have some healing, and enough escapability that I don't usually die too often.

The fire when cloaked option is nice, but I don't find it useful enough to really take advantage of it. I recently switched back to my Heg'ta to enjoy the benefit of the extra console and armor.

But if cryptic could drop the enhanced battle cloak until it is fixed and replace the brell cloak with the battle cloak, it would still be a good ship.

Yesterday I saw someone in Ker'rat toally Chang on somebody with the B'rel-R, they scienced a guys shields (TBIII & CPBIII) to nothing and ground him down with pure kinetic damage. I've never seen so many different torps from one ship. It was brutal to watch. Though it was a Fleet Escort that was the unlucky recipient of the attention, a cruiser would likely have toughed it out, and a science ship wouldn't be likely to stand for any cloaked tomfoolery for long.
