Will the KDF get a comparable item to compete with the Har’Pengh torpedo?

I find it odd that we didn't get em first, seeing as how the KDF invented them and all...

I must admit, the "remastery" (ie: how it should have been in the first place) of the Doomsday Device was very cool...It would be awesome to see the Klingons have some of these cool "Fed-Only" missions...who knows, it might even intice some of the dedicated Klingons who left the game early on to come back...

I heartily agree with you. When I came back earlier this month, I came back to foundry missions, featured episodes, crafting; and even though PvE isn't my preferred playstyle and the content wasn't kdf exclusive, I felt blessed nonetheless. With the promise of changes to ground combat a few months away, I really thought things were looking up for the kdf.

Idk what CS's intents where with remastering the mission the way they did, wether they thought it would increase interest in the kdf or not.. Whether they thought about the kdf at all when developing it. But i don't believe giving one faction exclusive content that allows them access to costume and ship options as well as rewards that most believe should have been kdf exclusive items, is a wise course of action. I think it has alienated a lot of kdf-as-main players.

I for one feel alienated. This move I really don't get. I think that when retired kdf players visit these forums interested in possibly coming back, and see this and the backlash it's causing, they might walk away feeling thatCS is still catering to the whims of the UFP while at the same time sacrificing what mAkes the kdf unique and gives it it's "draw". (remember FvF? it's still around. remember KvK? it's kinda...not)

It's clear to see from the past 6 months that adding UFP exclusive items, more pve, and content such as this will not bolster kdf interest or playerbase ( if that was CS's intentions). As i said,I did return to more content, but less kdf players. This is disheartening.

You're not going to see an increase in the kdf population by bringing more Feds to the kdf, especially when your releasing content like this, I have said many times the only way to achieve this goal is to win back retired kdf players, and until more attention is given to pvp and kdf exclusives (like costume and ship custom
Ization and options, missions like the remastered one ) it's simply, sadly, not going to happen.

Hopefully the Harghpeng's will be part of one of the new KDF missions that supposed to come out with Season 4.

Well the torp is mediocre at best....the radiation 33% proc only and cleared by everpresent HE...maybe good for PvE, but still (borg) modifier torpedos do more dmg in STF anyway..

It's really disappointing to play the new mission. It's an amazing Klingon mission. WITH KLINGON OPERA! OPERA YO! They made klingon opera!

    FOR A FED MISSION.

I can't even begin to describe how ... disappointing the mission is to play. Because it's so good as a KDF mission and it's all Fed.

    Sigh.

Yup I agree with you, it was a good mish but it felt like a slap in the face to the KDF, as a KDF main player I got irritated by the whole thing. It really should have been a red mission. Maybe one day they'll figure out that more stuff on the KDF side will lead to more money for them, instead of the current outlook of "there arent as many KDF players so we aren't going to make much content for that side".

If not, then maybe Cryptic will make it so it can be Crafted or bought from Vendor (for credits or Exploration Badges) that are Bind on Pickup in all ranks.

And is on DStahl's short list (along with things like Saturday's Child, Kuva'Mahg, and Diplomatic Orders/P'jem) to rework from the Klingon PoV later on if I recall some of his posts correctly.

I agree that the mission rocked, the use of the song of victory in particular, and would make a fantastic Klingon-side mission. I hope to see it there sooner rather than later.

They're making a KDF version of the Doomsday Device, telling from the KDF side of the story. So maybe then KDF will get the torpedoe and have the awsome cutscene (loved the klignon singing).

Remember they're making missions that tell the KDF side

There's a reason why that only makes things worse.

I wouldn't say it's "on DStahl's short list." It's on "a" list. How soon it gets done remains to be seen. Most likely, it will be after Season 5.

for crying out loud cryptic, give us KDF a blasted break for once! every single time new content get announced you praise us and ask for patience in exchange for promises of cool stuff, and then shove a stick into our eyes and say "sorry maybe next time" well after 3 seasons, going on 4 that this has happened not to mention all the times in between its a wonder why i am still here. this mission upsets me for a number of reasons,

1- the torpedo(a Klingon made) is effective, and is fed exclusive while no emblem torp, feds just have to have some fun to get it, not grind away
2- it shows that cryptic had working designs of KDF costumes that were demanded over a year ago, but have been given to a fed mission as temporary items instead, rather than throwing us a bone you would give feds the temporary ability to look Klingon, really though, why not give it to us, it might satisfy us for a week or 2
3- the general design of the mission is so "Klingon" its fun yes, but it is not a federation style mission

i thought maybe the BoP would at least be demonstrated properly with some combat to show the skill required to fly it, nope no challenge at all, not even like when i had my T1 bop i could rant all day on this topic, but right now i think i am going to stop before i get banned from forums....

They don't have time to give us our own torp, they have half the staff working on kdf missions for season 4 remember. Mean while they can still pump out a few re-mastered episodes for the feddies.

A few kdf only missions already in game
Tons of fed only missions in game
Kdf cries, screams, begs for more kdf only missions
Cryptic quickly responds with....re doing fed missions that've been in game since launch.

Oh wait I forgot all about the Gorn revamp. I mean wow they look sweet. Cuz thats what everyone has been waiting for, to level a cool "new" Gorn.

The first screenshots of the revamped Gorn were released last autumn. The reason most of us forgot about the gorn revamp? Because it's been in limbo for 9 months or so.

Make the Har'Peng Torpedo craftable for the KDF only.

It makes sense, the KDF developed this weapon, of course they can build them!

Really, we get new missions in Season 4?
Can you provide a link to where you saw this information? All the threads I could find from Developers concerning Season 4 don't say anything about new Klingon Missions...

I recommend you play KvK PvP until it is fixed. PvP chat and other forum posts are talking a lot about one shot kills on 100% shield and hull ships. +50K hull hits are pretty easy to accompish.

Crafting it would be the smartest and "easiest" way to make it available to KDF. It will make it more fun and saves them from trying to tag it to random KDF mission #3.

So that explains it. [Romulan expletive].

I see no Honor in useing a weapon such at this! were is the fight!! as it has always been since the start the Feds find a cheap way out of a good old fight, I refuse to let my warriors go to battle in a fight that has NO HONOR!!!

There is no honor in a foolish death due to giving up a tactical advantage. We fight not just for the joy of fighting, but for the goal of victory and conquest! Handing our weapons to our enemies for them to use against us while we tie our own hands is no path to Sto-vo-kor!

They do not sing songs of the petaQ who was killed by his own blade!

The torpedo ought to be made available to us through some sort of mission...this was of course the case for the portable bank comm.....I don't see why this would cause any trouble...after all, it is a Klingon weapon...
Perhaps if you think about it, we should encourage more Klingon weapons and gear being made available to the Federation...we'd be taking them over little by little through cultural diffusion...lol.
