Ok, it's not the beginning of a new series or the title of the next JJ movie, but more an expression of my feelings about the KDF.

As any of you noticed an increase in interest into the KDF faction? A genuine one, not an anti-Klingon trolling movement from Federation players. How can we 'capitalize' on it and show that potential "population" to Dstah?

We can't. That's the catch-22 here. The devs won't do much for KDF because there's no interest due to pop numbers. We can't increase interest because the devs won't do much for the KDF.

Aye, but for the devs, think about the potential money....I hope we can appeal to the inner Ferengi in some of them. I think there are enough people that woudld buy items from C-Store or whatever else to justify their cost in making them...I am talking about customization options and such for the KDF toons already in-game. Well, this among other things......
    Any other thoughts?

I've been gone for 6 months,

Decided to come back and see if there were any changes KDF side.......

From what I've seen there hasnt been much of any upgrade on the Klinks side.

That being said I have always been a KDF only character and will continue to be one, My hope is that
we will get a lot more content but if cryptic only bases its development of KDF content on pop. numbers
then that is shortsightedness on there part because like anything in life to reap the rewards you have
to put in the work and if they do this I think they will be happy with the investment of time.

As in all games, the more content, the more pop.
If the KDF and feds had the EXACT same content, yes, at first the feds would still have more pop. But it would balance out over extended periods of time.
If you look at all mmo's (except DAOC), they all balance out.

But, cryptic see's it as a gamble. And they are not into doing that.

Well the question that's been bothering me is this:

If they can't justify spending time and effort on adding content to the KDF because only 12% of the players play KDF side then how are they going to justify spending the time and effort to create a Romulan faction when 0% of the players currently play on the Romulan side?

If you've been holding your breath for the Romulan faction, I'd stop, it is suicide.

Seriously though, faction agnostic content is the way out of this catch-22. It can be made for the entire population and, step by step, it brings the two factions closer to parity. Once we Klingons have enough content to make leveling them more of a game and less of a chore, our population should go up.

On that note, is there a way to /who and see which players are in a particular zone? I noticed today, when doing a rerun of The Vault with a new player friend of mine, that doing it not only unlocked it in his mission log but also let him get the next quest in the chain. So naturally I get the idea of soliciting total strangers in the Kahless Expanse.

Yeah, but if the "other factions" are still mostly the same content as Starfleet, as KDF currently is, and they have nothing special, as the KDF no longer does, then where's the motivation to even try another faction?

Exactly. I like the featured episodes, but they really feel like they are made for Federation characters. If new missions are going to be faction agnostic, there is no reason to play them as a different faction.

Agreed. The helping and coddling by a Klingon is pretty absurd. As bigoted as the Romulans are they would never worry about helping some whiny Reman or worry about offending a dog in space suit. Not only will mission texts have to be different but story lines too so each faction is portrayed accurately/less Fed.
