One thing I don't get.
Why is it that FEDs can go into Klingon Space, but some of the FED space is still unexplorable to the KDF faction?
I think it is because they never intended the KDF faction to play a major role in the game. I think they just thought it would be cool to have.
Correct me if I am wrong but the zones where red turns to blue is accessible by both whereas the KDF only zones of nothing but red space (there is only 1 sector block here I am seeing) is only for KDF just as Sirius is just for Feds....or is for the moment....

That's also wrong. They always intended the KDF to be a full faction, and promised it would be. They ran out of time during development, sadly, and it remained unfinished. the last year has been catchup, and that will probably continue for another year at least.
Yes, let's hear it for the patronly Atari.......who rushed the game's development before Cryptic could finish it... I hope that this new content can pacify people and make the player base certain that STO is a good investment and that the KDF side can be called closer to completion....

I can't go to the Regulus Sector as a KDF toon either.
That makes TWO Sectors to the FEDs restriction of only ONE in the entire game ;-)

I hope you're right about them ACTUALLY intending the KDF Faction to be 'complete", or as I like to call it "Equally treated".
Even if I DO think that it should also be considered completely unneccesary to do so.
Which faction in the Star Trek's Milky Way Galaxy is always the star of every Star Trek Series/Movie ?
The UFP's Starfleet; Not the Klingons, not Romulans, and not even the The Cardassian Union.
I hope for balanced gameplay/content for ALL of the four superpowers, but I DO also feel it should be considered unneccesary.
Thank you all for your comments.
They were very interesting.
But, and forgive my apparent ignorance here, but what does this mean?
It isn't unnecessary that both factions in an MMO should have the same amount of content. Gameplay matters here, such as the ability to level up without excessive grind, not who the star is.
Also a a necro thread, also called a zombie thread, is a horrible abomination, back from the death, craving the souls of the living. Sort of. What it really means is that if a topic's last reply was more than a month ago, you are not supposed to reply to it, but make a new thread instead. Forum rules.

Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, but I'd like to respectfully add something you might want to consider in the context we are discussing.
This is not a TV show, nor a movie.
This is a computer game and other Star Trek games have managed to give sides/feactions besides the Federation full gameplay without any drawbacks, namely
"Starfleet Command 1+2+Orion Pirates+3"
"Star Trek Armada 1+2"
"Birth Of the Federation"
while games like
"Klingon Academy","Klingon Honor Guard" and "Klingon" managed to completely focus on something besides the Federation.
Please don't get wrong, I'm not saying they should drop everything and put all their work into the KDF right now just because I mentioned the latter three games which had their focus on the Klingons.
However my point is that there is considerable precedence for games to have a different focus than the shows had.
Same goes for example for a novel series called "I.K.S. Gorkon" which focuses on the exploits of a Klingon warship exploring a sector of the galaxy, mapping stars, colonizeable planets and conquering populated planets with exploitable resources (includding the ppopulation).
It only shows there is an actual market for these things, an actual interest in stories besides the somewhat worn-out ones from the shows.
Those are, from a financial stanpoint, untapped market opportunities and of course also things that have worked in the past.
Showing that while those who prefer the focus to be similar to the shows (which wasn't really the Federation since there was always a human leadership) might consider it to be less important or unneccessary it would not be wasted to show more.
People are not asking for a Klingon TV show, something that would be doomed to fail since a show has to appeal to the housewife as much as the hormone-powered teen, but for something that is for people who are already nuts enough to play this game.:)

You have this totally backwards.
KDF space is smaller, only one sector block, Omega Leonis, but Feds cannot enter it at all.
Eta Eridani the former neutral zone, isa contested area and accessible by both.
Pi Canis, is also contested space, and accessible by both.
Gamma Orionis is technically Federation territory, but is overrun by Borg.
According to a post by Ser Daniel Stahl (see my thread), KDF will be getting access to all Federation sectors sometime during season 4.
So no, they cannot enter uncontested Klingon territory, but we can enter some of theirs, and even more coming soon ^_^

The ability to go into fed space is not on live servers yet.
Also, this is a necro.
