Just curious. I thought I'd read that this was in the works at some point, but can't remember. Are branching mission objectives planned at some point? I'm loving the branching dialogue, but just think it'd be great if I could take my mission in 2 or 3 different directions based on what the player chooses to do. Anybody know?
No, the story board is linear and everything on it must be completed to finish the mission.
However, the triggers are not part of the story board, but can control access to element on the story board.
ow i think i know what you mean, 1 trigger linked to 3 things that star a chain event in themselves and u cant carry on the storyboard until you complete all the things on the 3 triggered action chains.
I just made a little demo of an alternate pathway mission.
It is a Fed mission and called "Branching Story Mission".
There are 2 different ways to solve the mission and it has a different ending text as well.

I'll give it a look later. I'm very wary of anything that isn't an objective in the storyboard because the potential exists for directions to be unclear in the righthand progress window and because everything I've heard suggests the storyboard will be a big part of determining mission rewards, along with timers.

You can't have two alternate ways to complete the mission though.
Are you absolutely sure?
I think you can
I'm talking two ways with completely alternate next and different endings, with no ability to switch mid-mission.
As in, with objectives like "Kill Klingons" one way and "Kill Romulans" the other where the actual final mission dialogue is different.
