So, now that the news is out that The Great Hall is getting an overhaul what would you like to see?
I would like the courtyard have more use with a few buildings to access.
Arena Building: A building of its own like the arena we have now but with seating. Warriors come from all over the Empire to test their skill with a Bat'leth here. I would love to see some more use from this building, like real PvP and PvE tournaments. (added Targ Pit thanks to Alith-Ahnar) A Targ Pit could be added here. You could bring your bred Targ's here to compete. The champion Targs could maybe get a boost in player buffs? Or maybe the ability to have a full grown Targ pet that follows you around?
Warriors Bar: Dark, smoky and very loud! This building should be filled will drunken Klingons from every House ready to sing songs in your honor! Perhaps adding some kind of mini games like headbutting, arm wrestling or even singing a song in the right order? (added Orion Slave Girl Dancers thanks to Idali) Save me a glass of 2309...Qapla'!
Great Hall: Same building as before with a smaller interior where the High Council plans our battles. This is where we get our orders, promotions and perhaps medals?
Quartermaster Building: Crafting, ships, weapons, auction house and items from vendors are purchased here.
Embassies: Each major species (minus Klingon) should have an embassy building (or maybe one building for all) where that specific group can go to get their own missions made specifically for that race. So the Orions (for example) could speak to high ranking Syndicate members to carry out special missions that only the Orions could get.
I'd like to see the trial room as in where Worf was trialed and Picard defended him.
We could get some diplomatic missions here and should'nt be too hard to come up with
few story missions to take place like this.

That was actually not a trial room, but the High Council room. He was brought before the Chancellor to answer on the accusation that his father committed treason. Picard acted as his Cha'DIch, not really his defense, in the case of such charges the accused is denied personal combat, basically it is like saying that person's honor is not to be trusted to the point where they cannot even be allowed to physically defend themselves, in those cases a Cha'DIch is chosen to answer calls that require personal combat.

Okay, i was off by a generation then
"In 2293, this Klingon judge presided over the trial of Captain James Kirk and Doctor Leonard McCoy after they were accused of involvement in the assassination of Chancellor Gorkon. Kirk and McCoy were found guilty, but the judge commuted the sentence to life imprisonment on Rura Penthe, in light of the circumstantial nature of the evidence and to foster amity in the peace talks. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country) "
This was the thing that i was looking for. The judge is wearing a big dark cloack and has this metal glove with a metal ball attached to the hand.
More outdoor areas...perhaps separate buildings for each function rather than one big building?
i'd like more of the single building as it is now. BUT i would'nt mind if it were multiple seperate buildings either. Just as long there is no loading everytime i enter or leave a building.
I agree with more buildings, just as long as they work it out to have no loading. Ya that trial room where Kirk and McCoy were would be great, that should be part of the main building. Opera House could be kinda neat as well.
Something I'd like to see not on Qo'noS itself but above would be some drydocks and more than those two traffic control stations.
Even though it would not be accessible now, and would not need to be for some time, something like Praxis Station from the novels would be nice and fitting.
I imagine such an installation would become accessible for the Klingon players once Earth becomes accessible for the Federation since the situations are reversed right now: on the Federation side you can go to EDS but not the planet, on the Klingon side you can go to the planet but there is nothing in orbit.:)

THAT is an EXCELLENT point. Load screens make me sad.

Oooh, Praxis! I keep forgetting about that. And also, even though it is not on Qo'Nos, we could use something at Rura Penthe. At least on Andoria, there is something to beam to, even if it currently serves no useful purpose.
There seems to be great potential in lore for some interesting locations in the Klingon Empire.

As Orion, i would like to be able to dance there. similiar to club47.

I would love to see orion slave girls dancing around like they had been known to in TOS for the federation captains...For example, the Wolf in the Fold and the Menagerie episode...lol....
I would also like to see more random Klingonn fighting, staggering klingons from drinking too much...lol... and perhaps a live food bar?....
Itd way to bright, it needs to be much darker, and illuminated by the red tower table lights mostly. execpt for the stage for the dancing girls. That needs spotlights so it can reflect on the metal garments.
Well yeah, the whole Qo'nos is pretty much just beige clump without contrast atm.
I dont know would it go too far if the most of the light in the place would come from the red machines?
Kinda same problem as our uniforms. the feds get the brighest colors and we have just these desaturated versions of them... or is it just my imagination
Oh man I hope the devs are reading all this! Slave trader sounds great! If they give us the Orion Interceptor with a Shanghai ability to grab crew from other ships we can sell to them! I also agree that the bar and council chambers need to be really dark and smokey.
Oh man! Targ Fighting Pit....now that sounds awesome! There is talk of Targ breading, just imagine if we could breed our own Targs to fight in the arena! Maybe if they become champions they could give better buffs? If they lose they die and you have to start over.
I read somewhere that the palace of Khaless was where the high council held meetings. It was described as being big, ancient-looking, with a modern twist to it.
I would assume that the current great hall must be this place... but it doesn't really have that 'ancient' feel to it. It's so bright, and metallic... I would think more things would be made of stone with minor necissary changes to 'modern-ize' it... not completely change it.
It should be darker, with more pronounced red lights... it should have ROARING fires in braziers, the sounds of monastic Klingon singing, a feeling of reverence, honor, and pride.
Don't get me wrong, there is definately a place for the loud drunken singing, targ pits, combat, and the like... but I should think that the 'great hall' itself should be a place of awe and respect... not an orion strip club. LOL

Haha agreed...but all these requests are for separate buildings outside of the great hall. That's why I think they should make the inside of the Great Hall smaller and just keep it council chambers and maybe a court house? The bar, arena, quartermaster and other ideas should be a bunch of separate buildings in the courtyard or outside the gates with a smaller courtyard like this pic suggests.

Indeed, is there a map of Qo'nos available somewhere (with vendors/exchange/bank/mail and such noted on it) or is it a part of the rite of passage to figure everything out yourself?

I'm still hoping for an area where players can recline, lounge, and be entertained by the Orion slave girls. We can make it kind of like Club 47 in size....and make the backdrop similar (the environment) to the TOS episodes where you would see the Orions putting on a show for the TOS crewmen..."Wolf in the Fold" and "The Menagerie" (part 2 on that one I think)...I would even like to hear the music they played from the dance sequence in "The Menagerie"...wonder if they could swing something like that......

PvP Honor Duel Arena.

Something similar to the DS9: "Apocalypse Rising" ceremony room where Sisko fights Gowron. Drinking Klingons, barrels of blood wine etc.
Some sort of master armory - weapons racks, batleths, that sort of thing
Targ Pit?
Mood lighting - more dark and red like we see in the episodes
Maybe something like an slave auction house for the orions among us - cages full of federation prisoners something like out of ENT: "Borderland.
As for in orbit:
Definetely some orbital shipyards
Weapon platforms? Something similar looking to Ty'Gokor orbital defence network
Its good to be Orion
Its good to oggle Orions.:D
No argument there, haha!
And hughe amounts of Bloodwine barrels standing around
More bloodwine we need MORE BLOODWINE!
I REALLY hope the devs see this thread

A main hub for Klingon's that isn't a maze.:D
