What is everyone doing to collect samples and traces to craft on the their klink toons? I've heard many farming for the needed items on the fed toon then sending them VIA self mail to their klink toon. Is there an easier way???

If you do the clusters for leveling you get samples, but yes. It's faster to farm with a Federation toon and send them over to your Klingon.

The sorties, every frieghter you stop gives you 5 of something. Stop 6 inside and instance and you have 30 samples easily. I think kdf side is faster. I've had one fleetmate get 5 traces out of one ship and then the very next ship got another 5 trace.

I think the KDF method of resource gathering is much more interesting than the Starfleet method.

Plus as a KDF you can STILL scan for anomolies in a majority of the daily mission instances, in additon to looting the freighetrs, containers, etc. If anything farming anomolies using a KDF toon gets you more, faster.

I've noticed that you get less samples from scanning the anomalies on a Klingon. I consistently get 3-5 on my Fed, while on my Klingon I get 1-3. I haven't gotten a single rare sample in over a month on my Klingon either.

If you want to gather Red samples I find this quite good assuming you also have access to the Deferi Daily's.

    Go to the Deferi sector
    Take the mission Cold Call
Go to Deferi planet and start Cold Call
Ignore the ship and collect the samples in the wreckage on the left and then the one far to the right in the asteroid field and leave.
Go to Outpost 3 and visit it and collect both sets of samples and leave.
Assist Outpost 3 and collect samples and do the mission and leave.
Visit Outpost 3 again and hopefully samples will have reset and be available again.
Go to Zaria and collect samples and do the mission.
Visit Zaria again and hopefully samples will have reset and be available again.
Go to Kelvani and visit it and collect samples and leave.
Assist Kelvani, collect samples and do mission.
Go back to Deferi and start Cold Call and collect samples.
Visit Outpost 3 then Zaria the Kelvani and back to Deferi.
Also remember to collect samples from Deferi Patrol and Breen Patrol.
Also if you are doing/redoing the Breen missions take every chance to visit Zaria/Kelvani/Outpost 3 and collect samples and collect any samples from the systems you visit for the missions.

Another possibility is to simply take all the spare data you have on your fed alts and post them to your klink crafter. After all, you only need one crafter per faction.

Actually, you can transfer crafted items, since they are bind on equip.

So, you only one crafter per account.

Except if you want phasers and/or disruptors. KDF can make disruptors, but not phasers. Fed can make phasers, but not disruptors. In all other things they are equal.

I cannot confirm this. I get pretty inconistent results on my Feds. Sometimes I get just one anomaly - why did I do the mini-game again?

I get most of mine from farming on the fed side. I have a fed crafter unlocked for phasers (since they use them) and a KDF as my main crafter...I just mail them over. But I do notice that certain patterns yield me more rare particle traces in a span of a 1-2 hour farming run....well, on the fed side that is. As far as having more common data, I have seen that the fastest way to get the common data if you were to farm the KDF side is to do the anomalies in the nebulae...The raids simply are just all over the place as far as what they offer. If you want something specific, go to a nebula....
