Found this on the patch notes:

"Klingon players now have access to the Psi Velorum Sector Block."

It appears that the Klingon Empire has expanded into Romulan space, with all the infighting it might not last another decade or two. If it collapses there would be major plot lines for the game to exploit:

A: Huge numbers of refugees coming into the Federation for safety
B: Romulan pirates in cloaked ships
C: the end of the Organian Treaty, an agreement between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire that states that the Feds can't develop cloaking tech
D: possibility of playable Romulans in either Fed/Klingon factions

In addition it gives Klingon's access to new areas and possible mission sites.

    Right now, we don't have anything to do there, when the new weekly opens up we will have that, and having Psi Velorum and Pi Cannis gives us a great deal of opportunity.

    I recommend they revisit my Kavrot Sector ideas.

    Its probably just a prelude to the feature episode and for when the Romulan Faction gets made playable.
    But there is no way in hell that Romulans can be a playable character in the KDF .... Klingons despise Romulans!

    It seems to me the KDF and Romulans had a rich and varied past - they were allies once, too, just like the Klingons were allies of the Federation at some point. Duras family seemed to have high hopes for a new Klingon-Romulan alliance.

    That said - Romulans will eventually become their own player faction. No need to add them to the Klingon side, really.

    Psi Velorum is opened for the new Featured Episodes. Coming Saturday we should know more IIRC.

    being able to Raid The Rihannsu on general principle makes this Klingon Player very happy :D

    They were allies for a year (or something miniscule like that). It means nothing to the Klingons.
    We were allies with the Feds for generations and now we are steamrolling them all the way to earthspacedock.
    For me, I was disappointed when I found out we where given access to fed space before romulan.
