OK guys! My patcher finally worked! it blew through elements.data and tasks.data.... the solution? Well...apparently DSL 768k is too slow for the patcher to work effectively! I brought my laptop over to the company T1 lines (very fast), and the update literally took about 30 seconds. I don't know if this helped at…

Battlefield 2 for PC..and of course, Smash Bros. Melee for Gamecube Perfect World was actually my first mmo haha
-
oh, xarfox...do we happen to need some sort of font package to patch the game successfully?! that could my issue...i'm not sure if have some specialized asian font pack. so is the font i need called "east asian font." i'll go check right now on my font status...
-
alright, thanks for the info if it helps, i'm at chicago, running on DSL 768k, and so far no luck for the past 20 or so hours.
-
i'm at service pack 3 for xp....and it didn't solve the patcher problem. sorry if it burst your bubble haha
-
if you downloaded and installed Perfect World International correctly, there should be a file called Perfect World Entertainment in your C:\Program Files\ (in your hard drive). did you check there?
-
if you don't want to save anything, and just be able to run the game, you can delete the .zip file and the uncompressed (extracted version) of that .zip. just note though, if something happens to your game, you have to redownload it. i would just delete the uncompressed one (extracted one), and keep the .zip for future…

i tried patching it directly from that directory as well...doesn't work either. well, at least now my elements.data fully loads (yellow bar fills up), but then the error message pops up and asks if i want to retry....which then pretty much restarts all that progress i've made. this is getting really annoying
-
yeah...thats because you need an unzipping program to do it. .zip files cannot be double clicked if you don't have the right program. get 7zip and it should work
-
the file should be wherever you specified when you downloaded the file... and you need a unzipping program, such as 7zip, to unzip the file (the default format when downloaded is a .zip file...it cannot be simply opened without extracting first) you can try a system search (search option under start menu), and type in…

try another mirror site, or torrent file.. i downloaded mine from mmosite, but that took about 9-10 hours on DSL
-
updating under windowXP? you mean windows XP, the operating system? i'm updated on that...sp3.
-
haha, don't worry...i know how it feels. my patcher has been up and running (and failing) for about...14 hours so far... that darn patcher just can't get past elements.data
-
what did you do? so far i've: reinstalled PW-International 4 times checked my system specs, all updated drivers/files (DX9.0c) temporarily disabled firewall verified files during install...all passed i cannot verify on the PW patcher screen (verify button fails)...also am i supposed to be able to click the server names?…
-
same, i reinstalled several times, and i'm still stuck on elements.data. game version 1 as well.
-
i downloaded from mmosite, the mirror from this website... also, upon loading, it says client version 1
-
god i envy all you players who can actually update, log in, and play... this silly server updater either freezes or is horrendously slow.
-
i've got the exact same issue...i'm guessing yours freezes around elements.data? anyhow, it seems some lucky few people have theirs up and running. i'm guessing its something to do with their update server. my only guess is to just wait it out...
-
closed beta lasts 1 month i believe
-
your game is already up and running rion? at least you can make characters at this moment...my ign i wanted probably is taken already haha.
-
yeah, completely translational "errors". the developers stated that they wanted a more localized naming layout, so now almost all the old PW-EN names are different. but yes, scythes are that "middle" weapon in between spears and maces, previously called "long blade" polearms. you'll see what i mean hopefully once closed…
-
haha, well its only closed beta afterall. i'm just eager to see if the programmers and developers reamped any sound/visuals, etc. by the way, i'm loving your sig kaleidoscope. crisis core was pretty intense.
-
alright, at least i'm not alone with this issue its probably only because their servers are being overloaded with eager gamers wanting to play PW haha....at least i hope so. i'll try running the updater in an hour or so, and hopefully it works then.
-
1 hour more!
-
sorry about that, sp = skill points, which are similar to attribute points except you use them to level up skills. and i found out what you mean about scythes from that information in this website... its just misinterpretation on my behalf. coming from PW-EN, the names were shuffled around, so here's what i meant: (format…

EA are easy to kill of course, since they have average defense and low-mid hp. Its just that EA are great attackers, so if an EA PKs you without notice, you're probably screwed as well. well anyways back to topic, i can offer a rough population percentage count from my old guild in PW-EN. Also, just to note, this guild was…

if you use maces (scythe-looking weapons), you can also wield the polearms. they belong to the same category. from that, if you add a little more agi every level, you can also wield swords/blades...or if you add a little more str, you can wield axes/hammers. both sacrifice con though, so its not heavily recommended (and…
-
still goes with your style. i've seen both mage WF and heavy fox in PvP. If you like longer range, go mage. If you like close melee go heavy fox. both have pros and cons though, so its really just preference.
-
depends on whether you want mage or fox form. fox form typically is heavy armor, so alternating +2/+3 str, with +1 agi every other level. rest into int/con. mage venomancer is easy as hell to build: minimum str for robe armor (around +1 str every other level), and rest of points into int. great PvE build since your pet…

i actually had the exact same thought. i'm thinking the venomancer and archer classes are going to be pretty popular. i'm switching over to cleric, only because i had a moderately leveled one previously so i'm sort of familiar with its style. its pretty similar to an archer with the exception of less damage, but…
