Because it would be too awesome. Can you only customize the eye color and mouth?

Yeah, but it really doesn't matter at the lower levels, because the monsters barely hit 2+ on you, and you can kill them quickly. Basically, from what I've heard, if you want an effective DD, use the blademaster, and find some friends quickly so you can party, because that's how the barbarian levels.
