As a casual player who basically just creates new chars, levels them up till I'm tired of them, then deletes them, I have to say the best addition to the game so far is . . . the MINE SCOUT!! Omg, I hated that back-and-forth to Gen. Summer in that culti. So, thank you PWI for the Mine Scout! As has been mentioned, the…

I agree with those who say keep it, but make it more realistic. It gets tedious, the same sound whether running on cement, grass, sand, etc. They don't necessarily need a different sound for every single different terrain, but at least differentiate between a "hard" sound (cement) and a "soft" sound (grass). It would be…

Mugre, you have explained better than I what I was trying to say in my original post. And this line right here is spot on: The rest of your post describes exactly the kind of "clutter" I was referring to. Even the end-game stuff strikes me as tremendously cluttered. But remember, I haven't really gotten into the end-game…

I like bearish. He makes me laugh sometimes.

Maybe I'm not understanding you, but those "if you go warsoul vs r9.3, you're an idiot" type posts are the very ones I meant when I said ppl take this game too seriously. Don't know how that makes me a troll on their behalf. But to see ppl get so seriously bent out of shape because another player doesn't do what he himself…

So this ^^ Many posts in this thread show exactly what I meant in a post I made in another thread--players in the game nowadays are way too SERIOUS.
-
The game used to be so much fun back then because the players believed the objective of the game was to PLAY it--experience all the different aspects of it, experiment with skills, socialize. Now a player's objective is strictly to get to end game as fast as possible. WHY they want that has always been a mystery to me.…

Don't know if I'll make it before this closes, lol, but maybe I have the answer to this question. IF I understand it right-- I don't think you can right click on fashion in inventory to change it anymore like you can armor. You have to drag the piece up to the fashion square. Plus everything else everyone else alrelady…

I agree. But the bottom line is, it's PW's fault for allowing this situation to exist in the first place. I've come to believe PW has determined these "wham-bam-thank you, ma'am" type of players are the ones most likely to max-out mom's credit card on the game. They've probably done studies & found that the immature,…

When I first started playing, I didn't know about this, didn't have customization checked . . . . I just thought every one else was unimaginative.

OMG!-- Sweetiebot give Artigel - Heavens Tear 5 points for making me laugh hard.

I don't care that servers are up, I'm adding another: Velocipator (or whatever it is): (breathing heavily) "Thank God this isn't a marriage quest." And I think the "most dangerous game of jenga" or the "this fox is heavy; you're telling me" captions were the best.

Although I believe the version we are playing now is technically already Perfect World 2, I get what you are saying. I've come to believe PW is at a crossroads concerning this game. Do they go all out, and put all the resources available into revamping/resurrecting PWI? Or do they make a few attempts to prolong its life a…

Pretty much agree with what everyone has said. Granted it would take a lot of work to make it do-able, but that's why I say, instead of putting resources into one or two new expansions, put all that money/effort into this stuff. To answer some specifics: Yes, they'd have to tweak skills--but that's part of the planning &…

The reason we call it "Perfect" World?--IT'S MOSTLY ANIMALS!

Thanks. I didn't know that about the CN level cap. Which leads me to another question: I've seen gear in Auction House with lvl 135 requirement (or something like that), and sometimes you get a drop of a pot for lvl 110--where do these come from? Why do they even exist, if there isn't and never will be, an increase in lvl…

True, but with something like hyperstones, there's an easy fix: just remove them, or limit them in some fashion. The black eye PWI sustained from the frost glitch is something that cannot be removed. It altered people's perception of the game. And there's no going back on r9 now. Introduction of that was a massive break,…
-
(excerpted) I agree with this. Actually I think r9 and one other thing really destroyed the game, and that other thing was the frost glitch. That whole frost fiasco basically introduced the idea that players could exploit any glitch they found without negative repercussions. It destroyed the integrity of the game. "Honest"…

Back when I first started playing, this came up in wc: System message: DampWeed and PoopOnAStick are now married, etc., etc. Player wc: Uh, grats, **** & Damp Was just in a mood I suppose, but I laughed till I cried over that.

I've quickly ready this thread so might have missed some things, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I believe the root problem with PWI is that when it started, it was viewed and handled as a product with a shelf life of (according to PW's own financial report) 3-5 years. As such, they developed a business…

This is kinda what I was thinking. Good grief, maint has NEVER been an exact thing, not in the 4 yrs I've been playing. You just figure it's over when it's over. It never occurred to me that such a thing was complaint-worthy. 10-20 min. longer than expected? Sheesh! Wait till you get one of those really long overruns when…

Feeling dysfunctional, abnormal, unable to cope with even the most trivial things in life?--play PWI and feel good about yourself again.

Merging servers will only bring another transient spike of interest in existing players before boredom sets in once again. I doubt it would result in players spending any more money than they already do, and it really wouldn't be a drawing card for new players. I mean really, what says "dwindling" more than a server merge?…

PWI reminds me of a little town I used to live in. Far from the madding crowd, quaint, full of character. One of those towns where everyone pretty much knew everyone else, and if they didn't, still just knowing you lived there automatically made a friendly connection. Life was relatively laid-back & slow-paced. Everyone…

This pretty much expresses my opinion as well. I've always imagined the following scenario re: PWI-- In PW's own financial statement, they estimate the life expectancy of their on-line f2p games is 3-5 years. OK, so they set up a business plan to be carried out over, say 5 years. Where I believe they failed--and I've said…

What is happening is this: the bot issue disgusts a few people enough to quit; the R9 sales disgusts a few people enough to quit; a great many things over the years have each disgusted a few people enough to quit. etc., etc. No big, showy mass exodus. Just a constant, quiet trickling away of players over the years. The…

This is why I wish PWI would implement fashion accessories: jewelry, belts, scarves, etc. Plus they need to have things like jackets, hats, capes that can go over existing fash. I'd love to be able to buy hats without having it attached to a whole new hairstyle. I've always believed PWI missed out on a great money-making…

Kinda on-topic: I found the best place to come up with names is a world atlas, lol. Get a world atlas & turn to the index. All the names of towns & cities all over the world--you can go crazy trying to decide which you like best, lol. Most of my chars' names were chosen this way. And a definite NO to adding #'s & symbols…

Don't kid yourself thinking they neglect these opportunities out of altruism. Believe me, there's NOTHING on their mind but money, which stands to reason as they ARE a business for profit after all. Profit is their raison d'etre. It's not like they're trying to change the world or something. It's just that there's a fine…

I SO agree with the age slider idea. I've wished since I first started playing that I could create an older-looking char, like those wise old elder npc's. And yes again to the height. As Merc said, within a sensible range, it would work, and add so much more variety to char creation. (And I still haven't figured out why…
