Hi and pity the fool who has to read all these suggestions (of which I saw some goodies). My suggestion is a Search in forums - mostly so I don't have to read all the beginner or tech threads upon threads. There is much good sharing of info on this site and a Search would be very helpful.

Started out with FFXI for a couple years, 2 years or so on WoW, War since it came out and that's about it for mmropg's. Also check your firewalls, you might need to go to game mode or disable all but your windows firewall for updates to clear. I had similar probs, did manual patch like recommended above for 1-59 then auto update the rest and verify.

Actually, this is the 3rd mmropg I've played and will be bringing my boyz onboard for a change. After maxing out several jobs in other games, this is one is seriously sweet.

I'm also new to this game although I'd played ffxi and wow for years each. If the forums and early low lvl play are any indication, the community and the game are typical but maybe a shade better?
