u can do it whenever u want, but think about it: there is a chance of getting better armor then just buying it from the npc's. if u wanna use crafting to get much money u'll have to search for the materials for ur own. thats just because u are able to collect these mats while grinding. later u'll just find the higher mats,…

so u lvl up quite slow in the whole compared to others. As long as the quests are good dont care about it^^
