Well, I used the Direct dowload on the main computer (the one the DVD won't work on) and it ended up working fine. As for the laptop, it's still not working, but the laptop's charger snapped, so I'll just have to wait to find out why. Thank you for the help.

Yes, I turned off the windows firewall. And I don't have programs like that. Any other possible explanations? And that might be the problem with my computer, seeing as it's kind of old. I might not have a DVD-compatible drive on that one.

this is so weird, how come only a small portion of the people who play this are getting this problem, and it's especially occuring with people who just recently installed. Even though it's a small portion, it's still a large group, isn't it?

i agree. If so many people are having this trouble, and most of them had their firewalls off, then I doubt nmap will help....... (just voicing my opinion)
