I have to agree with Elendirah on this one. Although I find the simplest of all options is the blacklist.

I also have this problem. However my client doesn't shut off every 30 minutes. More like randomly once or twice a day.

Yeah, Most likely theres something jammed in your Keyboard that's holding down the "Fn" key. Possibly located between Alt and Ctrl. It depends on the make. You'll need to clean it out :o
