Overall the best bm build I have found is even lvls: 1 vit 2 str 2 dex odd lvls: 1 vit 3 str 1 dex This allows you not only to use axes, but swords and poles as well. I got this build from a bm friend of mine who uses all 3 types of weapons to kill players up to lvl 94 when he was only lvl 81.

The boss (whom I call the Kraken b:laugh) respawns fast in the island so tell the players you have with you to rush out once you kill it.
