I think assassin's high dex may allow them to last pretty long against tank barbs, but the hits that do hit will probably break them. (to summarize: they'll last a while, but probably won't win)

Super Jerry... from east coast... ready to play assassin as dex is my favorite stat, especially in melee combat (ironically, my main is a wizard)

had a lvl 54 barb... started playing a wizard. Been faithful to lvl 60. I will try assassin, but I think I may still stay with wizard.

pvp server man. I actually first chose pvp server by mistake, but I loved it. I not really a pker, but sometimes I just feel like pking someone. Just having the option is nice. Also, I don't get pked much at all.

Assassin all the way... (I'm just a big fan of Dex, even though my main is a wiz) Also, I was looking at the psy, It looks to me like they will be a magic tank class... honestly, just a guess. Even if they aren't meant to be mag tanks, I still bet they'd be pretty good at it.
