How is Crazy Stone a time sink? It just takes coin and being in West Arch once per day. As far as leveling up your genie, find out which skills you really want. Then calculate what you have to sacrifice to get that skill. I used SP to level up my genie to get the skill Holy Path (which helps on certain boss pulls).
