Trial memberships make the leader and director look bad. If you don't know the person well enough and have enough vouches you shouldn't invite them. For a mid-sized faction.. do research on the person. If you invite them and remove them a few days later that looks bad on the factions part itself.

Find an end build that you are shooting for and try and make sure the stats you use will build their way up to your final build.
