Very smart. I forgot all about this. You are right, Chinese heavy armored units did not have shields, but usually heavy swords.

Shields are unneeded in the game. Tanks are doing fine without them. If an average tank got ahold of a shield, then the tank just would not die. If the tank is fine without a shield, wouldn't it be too easy to advance as a tank with a shield? If it aint broken, don't fix it in my opinion. Shields would work moderately well…
