They're worth a tiny bit, enough to cover the repairs for a single item maybe, pfft. Generally, most people I know keep alts within the level ranges for Jolly Jones, and that's all they use those alts for: making money to afford whatever is needed to continue playing.

I would hope that they'd be good enough to us to either automatically fix it, or grant those that already maxed it with items that will allow them to reach the new amount of slots if it has to be done that way. How to implement it is the real question, I guess.

That sounds like a very plausible cause to me. At least considering the fact that I can't get arc to load any thing at all, except for when it does randomly decide to load the page for PWI.
