I am also on this Gift quest on my Veno. I have the tame pet skill, but it fails every time. Is it just a by luck thing that I manage to tame this lynxus, or have I missed an upgrade to the tame pet skill somewhere ( think it's at level1) b:sad

I agree, there are far too many people / cat shops clogging up Archosaur, and other main cities, (Etherblade kills me). I am a supporter of player vending, however, with so many people selling their wares and spamming chat all at once, things get very laggy. A kitty zone/bazaar/marketplace would make sense.
