True, the quest isn't necessary as you start out with one space in your pet bag, which you can use for a land mount if/when you get one. However, considering the hay mobs are 20-30ish, if you can get at least some hay around those lvls and save it, you won't have as much of an "ah shet" moment later on if you want a baby…

Fodder = Hay You can either buy hay from other players (kinda expensive if you're just starting out) or kill mobs that drop it.
