I don't understand why you're having Chi problems. Against ranged enemies, Winged Shell is the only Chi skill you're using. You should make more than 45 Chi when attacking an enemy. Are you killing them really fast? The melee combo does use two Chi skills, but Frost Arrow is really cheap. It should also take more hits to…

Do your fb. Get the reward crossbow. EVERYTHING will change.

I recently hit 40 and haven't started having any of these problems that people talk about in this level range, so I'm not sure what's up really. In fact, I'm finding these levels easier than the late 20s. I'm using a two-star level 32 bow with a damage shard. I use this combo against ranged enemies: Take Aim - Normal -…

I bought a nice two-star lightning bow at AH for 100k. When I'm done with it, I might put it back up for sale for you >_>

I personally use my genie only for emergencies and very challenging fights, so my skill set includes Tree of Protection, Tangling Mire, and Blinding Sand. I use the former when my potions aren't going to be sufficient and the latter on tough monsters, such as bosses. 40 dex is recommended for this setup.

I personally keep it maxed. I find it the best opener for PvE grinding. You'll do roughly the same damage as if you opened with Frost Arrow, but you'll gain Chi instead of spending it, and you can Winged Shell to get the mana back (keeping Winged Shell maxed will keep up with the cost of Take Aim). As a result, I generally…

That might be useful advice, if the OP was above level 27 and had access to stun / aim low ;) The primary combo quoted there works fine in typical use, and you really should be able to survive with it; if you're not, try the more nuke-oriented combo I mentioned above.

If you mean elites, you're probably going to keep dying, unless they're quite a few levels below you (or you're in a group). Don't try it without at least two people, preferrably another ranged user that can trade off kiting with you (the person being targetted runs away while the other shoots; swap as needed). If you keep…

At very low levels, melee is just fine. Winged Shell will keep most of the damage from getting to you, claws as weapons refills your Chi faster than Shell drains it, and you'll generally kill the monsters fast enough. Obviously you still open with your bow (probably just a Take Aim, if you maxed it; otherwise Frost Arrow)…
