I'd have to say, for an anime, the series Chrono Crusade made me sniffle at the end when they both died. In my opinion, it was a mixed emotion between sadness and happiness. Also, Into The Wild was kind of a sad tear jerker, but he died doing something he enjoyed and never regretted.

You know you play PWI too much, when you go to the store and ask for Mystical Meat and that it be specially wrapped in Soft Fur for the long trek back to your homeland. *nods*
