For me it happens mostly in the evenings , and it's not my connection or computer.

Run in command line:
tracert pwieast1.perfectworld.com
it will show unstable connections, these make spikes in your ping
the technology for internet routing is ancient, and not smooth0 -

Me and a lot a member of my faction and friends have the same Problem....

update: tiger event is over (i could not even get my low reward) and i can login properly again and the lag is gone.
dear support, shall i upgrade my system, too? will you pay it for me? OR WILL YOU PUT SOME OF OUR MONEY INTO BETTER HARDWARE? b:shocked
also, what is weird...before i dced during the event, i could not equip my emperor tome, it told me to type in my bank password (i dont even have one). after my login now, i can equip it without the password request.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

It could be a load-balancing issue on the network between the servers with your specific Tiger Event issue.
Unfortunately, without any data to take a look at, all anyone can do is say, "Hey, 98% of the time it's not on the server, check your connection".
Hence the link to my sticky thread I posted earlier, and you either ignored, or it doesn't apply because you're just posting to complain without caring about any troubleshooting.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Login in to server 3000ms ... Sometimes all works perfectly out of nowhere i dc 10 times in a row and server MS goes to 3000
And its 100% not my computer or my connection... !

I Play on Morai-Server with same Problem, i try to describe the Problem with more details (sorry about my English...):
The Problem happens randomly. Sometimes I have the Problem and then I have no Problems and then Member of my faction or friends tell me about this Problem.
2 Clients open:
Case 1: 1 Client I can play normal and other client has a ping > 10000 – 35000
Case 2: On both clients I can do nothing… but I can see other play move etc. and Chat also runs
Case 3: I can do nothing and nothing happens…. ca. 20min later… I can play normal.
Case 4: I close clients and try to login again… it’s don’t work, I get DC by login or I can see the Login windows forever…? If I start a 2. Client and try login… same
Sometimes after Login I can read the Text: Server Error, try login again.
Also mysterious, sometimes I have a Ping “0” ?
In all Cases… restart router, restart my PC => not better. Only waiting… 10min up to 1h… then it works normal….

Dutch player that is pretty much online all the time. No lag here (on both clients I use), but netgeographically I am very close to the server (which is hosted in Amsterdam I'm told). Trace looks exactly the same, but I'm more curious to see if there's any packet loss in the connection path. Can you, while there are problems occurring, do a ping -t to the server? Or a ping -n 1000 to test for package loss in transit?I'm so P.R.O... I Press Respawn Often.

Yesterday is was the half day... since ~12:30 Server time until ~21:00.
Also a lot of other ppl with same Problem... but again not all.
Stop antivirus and Firewall also do not help.
PWI and Arc is at the exception list.0 -

There's nothing I see there with the internet connection, but still cannot rule out software running locally on the PC that could be an issue. Need a Speccy for that.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

It could be a change in existing software, or even something simple like a setting in a video codec. that's why I always ask for full dxdiag and Speccy

i get the same traceroute results as Darknouz, even tho my character ingame has a 28550 ping, cant use skills, cant see chat, cant see Boss hp.
it usually happens when the server is crowded.

been havin same issue on HT for several weeks near tigers/nw time, almost makes nw unplayable with the lag.0

Strangest thing... it doesn't affect everyone on Morai, this lag. I'm close to the server netgeographically (server is hosted at a datacenter at the AMSIX I believe), and my ping rarely goes over 200ms, usually when in the NW and/or Archo West. If the connection bottleneck is at the server or devices connecting the server to the internet, then I should get the same lag as the OP. I don't.
My guess is that there's a problem with the peerings of the hoster being used by the Morai server. That would explain why some people have issues while others have no problems whatsoever - only the bad peer uplink(s) would be the ones causing issues.I'm so P.R.O... I Press Respawn Often.

I am posting here, not for me but for a list of friends who think to quit because of they have been totally unable to play for 2-3 weeks now. And i like them to much to let them go.
I usually dont put attention to that sort of thread because I was always thinking it is a problem of provider.
But here is the fact.
My friends are all from the same location: Germany or Hungary.
They have a perma 30k+ ping every day.
They used their laptop in different network spots (friend's appartment...).
And the most important fact: They can connect to all servers except Morai with a ping of 100 and a fps of 40+
So their provider is good enough to connect to each server without trouble but Morai, it is impossible.
I am not a network genious or aficionados but it seems that there is a problem which come from Morai server, am i wrong?
N.B. I am on Morai with a ping of 150 and 35 FPS so I assure that the problem does not apply to everyone.0 -
Just to put an end to this debate, OP, you should've read Sylen's thread already.
A serverissue means it affects every player, not just certain regions.
Affecting several but not all players means it (probably) isn't your own doing and outside your abilities to solve, but also doesn't directly blame PWI for it.
Between your household and pwi's server there are still several ISP's who need to work properly, all of which if only 1 malfunctions means problems to lots of players, but still far less than the amount of people you've sofar claimed.
Sofar what we know is that there are large amounts of people having these difficulties, and the majority who face these problems live far inlands like Hungary (also mentioned by others). Morai's server is physically located in Amsterdam, NL if I'm not mistaken. Chances are there is/are ISP's between Amsterdam and to the East that are causing problems for player's connection to the servers.
A traceroute will almost certainly never tell you of any ISP problems unless you're incredibly lucky with your timing and catch that one faulty trace.
Simply put: There is household -> ISP -> PWI.
Household is fine, PWI is fine for a large majority proven by the activity in NW/archo west/WC spamb:shutup, and a confined region is affected by the troubles of massive impossible lag (Hungary, Poland, Germany, all aiming towards the east of where the server is physically located) which only shows more proof that it isn't the server but outside of both PWI's and our grasp.
I bet you a shiny diamond ring that these issues are more ISP-related than Morai server and that thread is quite redundant.
inb4 "But I'm not towards the east!", It's called going on a limb, I'm not Bruce Almighty. There will always be someone with connection problems somewhere.0
