    I'm guessing this issue is the reason I can't disable Arc Defender then because I only get this notice http://i60.tinypic.com/2v13ua0.gif

    Edit: Lol well I'm experiencing the same problem, it seems, as the user above me.

    Here's the PWE "Joke of the year" "We listen to players"

    The runner up is ARC with Defender.

    When it ARC first loaded (after reading I could disable defender a few days ago) Defender loads so I "X" it out instead of logging in. ARC shut down. So I rebooted it, that's when I got this "You need a pin and has been sent to your e-mail". Guess what no e-mail with a pin. I launched ARC on a second account (After reading on the forums how to disable it) and followed the instruction. I kept checking my e-mail for the first account, 6 hours later no e-mail - no pin.

    I just fired up ARC to see if something changed, the first account now logged in then froze. LOL However, there was this nice message at the top of the ARC screen.: "Arc is experiencing performance difficulties. The issue is being investigated."

    We players told ARC was ****, the coding was bad and it wouldn't work. Took you guys adding more **** into it (Defender - which is nothing more than a data miner regardless of what your privacy policy states) for it to be fully demonstrated that it is ****. Don't fix it - just get rid of it.

    get only the message * could not complete that request at this time. please try again later* when i try to disable.

    how can you try later if u dont have e-mail anymore?
    and why in god's name isn't it disabled by default?

    That whole thing stinks....

    If it indeed ish a data miner(and as it saves IPs, it probably ish kind of), it's probably NSA's covert plot to locate potential locations of major cashers so US government can make exact plans of conquering countries with such rich citizens, starting by saving their CC-infos secretly to first drain their Visas dry.     We're experiencing issues with Arc right now, but I don't have any updates (yet) of exactly what's wrong. I'll try and update everyone once I find out what's wrong. (Hopefully by the end of the day, but I'm not too sure)

    I do hope this issue is dealt with soon. This is happening to people I know as well and if it goes to needing email access you are going to be seriously flooded with tickets and many people will no longer be able to play.

    funny all these problems happen on the weekend like fri to monday morning. Alot of other MMORPG are getting denial of service attacks this week and seems like pwi is not void of these attacks. I think this is the usual weekend attack or crash of pwi.

    Can't disable it, either. On both my accounts, I keep getting "Arc Defender is offline. Please try again later" messages. Just thought I'd chime in. ^^

    Seems that on the Windows XP 64 Bit operating system (yea, I know, rare OS but not as big a resource hog as Vista or Win7) the recent ARC update with the defender prevents ARC from launching PWI. See also: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1726211

    I've submitted a support ticket for the issue since I'm not the only one with the problem. Prolly a small bug, and not critical since you can launch PWI outside of ARC.

    Well it still won't let me disable it. I followed directions exact so thats not the problem...
    Keeps saying
    Unable to do this at this time.Try again later

    using workaround to play game but now won't be able to redeem the codes till Arc is fixed...

    dear non working stupid half finished arc defender GTFO of my computer. stop sending me pins that dont work.
    tip to PWE: fully test your programs before you launch them. hire a team of programmers that know wtf they are doing.

    defender is DISABLED on my computers to avoid this since i play on 4 different computer in the house depending on where i am. and here i am still having to figure out which email to which account and then OMFG the pin you sent me doesnt even WORK.

    are you trying to make people quit? are you trying to make it hard for people to log in? do you want your servers empty? didnt PWE just have a breach of security a few months ago? i am safer with my own security tyvm. now get this program the hell out of my game so i can log in!

    The original client was alot better than this arc garbage,

    1. pw shouldnt of released it to begin with

    2. pw should remove and trash it into the bin of stupid ideas.

    3. Fix the game itself instead of trying to make improvements that arent needed.

    So Sparkie, you posted this a week ago... I guess "by the end of the day" was way too hopeful but is there still nothing to say about this? Can you not just disable the program somehow until you get it fixed?

    Or, better yet, remove it all together.

    I have a couple of friends that aren't able to play anymore, because they had made their accounts 3-4 years ago, they don't have access to the e-mails used, since those were closed down, they also cannot change the e-mails from the Arc Games site because of an error, apparently, and support has told them nothing but go to the site and change it; today, said friends cannot bypass Defender, since it asks for the pin sent to the associated e-mail.
    At this point, is it even worth it to tell them to send in another ticket?

    Definitely it is not fault of pwi staff.

    If player can't prove, that some account is his/her own, then this is problem of the player.

    This is pretty common practice and grasping at straws to blame PWE for personal negligence in keeping track of ones own information.
    Countless websites, games and online services will not allow you to sign-up more than one email address per account.
    That's not to say there aren't some that do allow it, but its far from being an exclusive policy to PWE.

    As far as I know it is now working. I was able to disable the defender my all my accounts a few days ago.

    still can't disable it.
    trying to work with support but they seem to think its my puter.
    done everything they wanted and still no joy.
    they need to get rid of defender its junk..................

    finally got it disabled but had to go thru support to do it.
    still have dozens of peeps in the faction that need it disabled tho so that sucks.
    wish they would disable it by default....

    ok first off go to arc and attempt to disable defender, then take screenshot of the results.
    then go to paint and save it as jpg .
    then create a support ticket attaching this screenshot to it.

    follow their directions, if first set doesn't work then next step is harder but doable if you know the email addy you signed up with, just fill in what they want and they will disable defender for you.
