Is leveling still a grindy, soul-sucking experience?

It feels very very grindy to me at lvl83. My quests are giving me 50k exp for killing 85 mobs? Even the dailies feel like they're giving me no xp.

I duo 12 PV runs a day with an archer friend. If we really pushed it, could be 14, but we're both lazy. In any case, I'll be 105/105/105 in about a month and he'll get it a week or two before me due to hitting 100 on both rbs before I did and afk botting.

It's not hard. It's just tedious.

Cube gives pages (or cogs) for level 90+ actually.
    Really ???
    Cube of Fate
Many rooms give you book credit cards which you can either trade for old book pages (for level 92 skills) or fate pages (level 99 skills). You only get book cards at level 96+ !!!

As a reward for finishing advanced cube you get lottery coins which can be traded for cube necklace (see furnace in room 1).

May be because of it I had spent 1 million coins and got nothing during my test.
Tested (first time) Cube of Fate.

Bad, that my Wizard yet level 92.

Passed Room 52 (4 bosses), but not got book cards.

In the Room 53 (Soccer game) my Wizard was supposed to bring the glowing football into the goal, then dig a chest.

But instead he got his death after multiple hits of three mobs.

Total spent near 1 million may be.

Yea, I could get cog though or not.
It is lottery, it is not profitable.

14 PVs solo daily leveled me from 104 to 105 in like 3 weeks (or a bit more), if I did not take month break from PV, would have been 105x3 now...leveling is so easy now lolz

I love how OP asked if leveling is a soul-sucking experience and people answer no and then go on arguing about running the same 2-minute instance with no actual game mechanics at all for months and months.

Note that this cave has absolutely NOTHING going on, cept a few mobs standing around in a straight line cave, it was literally made in 5 minutes. What u need to do to actually clear this cave multiple times a day is spam-log ur alts back-to-back to open new instances every time and this all within a certain time-limit

It is so bad that the server has been reduced to less than 40 people actually still trying to level still and the rest giving up completely just because it is indeed a soul-sucking experience.

So to answer OP's question....you tot doing quests/RB/BH/FCC (I dno when played) was boring and soul-sucking? Right now its a 100x more soul-sucking and an absolute terror b:pleased fear not tho, hardly anyone cares enuff to actually try and level anymore, so u can just stop bothering like most others once u hit a comfortable level of 101-103

Yeah, I sent in a ticket and finally they said to send in my DxDiag and HiJackThis log which I did yesterday and it's now almost 1:30 PM and I have still not gotten a response...

Also, using Windows 8 as an excuse is sort of lame (no offense meant, honestly!). Windows 8 has been out for quite a while now and other companies have managed to make their games and software adjusted so Windows 8 users could use/play them with no problems.

I don't believe PWE really has an excuse on that matter when most of the world has already moved on and isn't having the issues that plagued Windows 8 when it first came out.

This is exactly what I feared. I was told at lvl 40 that I basically was going to have to spam some instances until lvl 60 and do daily quests to get there...

Logging in everyday to just do dailies in the hopes of earning experience is not solid gameplay to me. If there is a possibility of still leveling up there should be enough content to do so without resorting to doing dailies for a month just to level up.

That sort of system should be saved for endgame once you've reached the max level. Dailies should be a way to earn currency to gear or needed supplies... Now if quests actually gave a desirable exp. ratio (which they really don't once you reach a certain level, at least not when I played), then I'd be all for dailies giving exp. too since that is what they are for in most MMORPGs.

But Perfect World's system of leveling after reaching a certain level is broken in my eyes.

To be fair, you can play the game just fine at 100/100/100. Only need to go further if you want to be competitive in PVP.

What exactly is the issue you are encountering with Arc while using Windows 8?

Arc just doesn't launch at all. I've tried using the Arc Repair, using various compatibility modes, I tried it as an administrator, tried it with different administrator settings, listed Arc as an exception so my firewall/antivirus wouldn't block it, and I've even tried it with my firewall and antivirus turned off.

My ticket was being answered yesterday, with a back and forth going on, but since I sent in my DiaxDiag and my HiJackThis log last night, I haven't had a reply at all... I sort of find that odd since this is Monday so you'd think I'd be getting my ticket answered faster than I was on Sunday, but nope!

If the person answering your ticket was here on Sunday, then it'd be my guess that he/she is off today, but I'm not entirely sure. I'll ask the Arc team and see what they have to say about this issue.

The people complaining are talking about completely optional endgame levelling that is not at all important to what you are trying to do since you said atm you're more worried about getting to 100. What they are talking about is optional endgame leveling for high tier competitive PVP. There are a variety of ways to get to level 100 and you don't need to just log in to dailies. There is more to do than FF and PV pre-100 to level. You can World Quest, Quest, Grind, enter the realm of reflection and AFK chat, afk-auto bot, Cube of Fate, get a group together and do your bounty hunter, join an FF at 75-80+ or pay for one prior to that, aoe grind on the map, at 95+ there are exp pills from morai......

And 105/105/105 is only if you want to be really competitive in PVP.

Whoever told you, you need to spam a specific instance to get to level 60 is bad at the game. I don't generally like to call anyone that, but to think that's at all necessary to get to level 60?b:shutup

Agreed. Even back before they changed the quest rewards, and added in even more quests for the lower levels, you didn't have to really grind until level 67 or so.

With the way the game is now, I'd imagine you can play straight through the 80's without running out of quests.

Hell, I've got a level 87 Wizard that I fed most of my exp to genies in the lower levels to build up skills, and he's still not caught up on quests. I don't even do half the dailies on him.

I'm mostly interested in PvE content so this is a relief to me, thanks for the information. Also, it may have been that at the time that I played it was like I described, but maybe not. I started playing in 2009 or 2010 (forgot which).

I've talked to the engineering team on Arc, and they aren't finding any issues with Win 8 and Arc. The best thing to do right now would be to wait until the support staff replies to your ticket, since the dxdiag should tell them what the issue is. If you don't get a reply by the end of the day tomorrow at the latest, please PM me your ticket ID and I'll go ahead and expedite the issue.

    Sorry about all this :(

I solved the issue on my own after they sent me a reply that didn't really help... And please tell customer service or the devs (whoever gets the dxdiag, and hijackthis) to add DEP (Data Execution Prevention) to their list of things to tell players to try.

    Here are the steps:

    1) Switch to Desktop Mode by pressing Windows + M.

    2) Right-click on the My Computer icon and select Properties.

    3) Now click on Advanced System Settings on the left pane of System property window.

    4) Now click on the settings under the Performance area.

    5) Now click on the Data Execution Prevention tab. You'll want to click on the bubble that says "Turn on DEP for all programs and services accept those I select."

    6) Then below there will be a box where programs can be added or removed. Add the Arc Launcher to that and make sure that the little box beside Arc Launcher's name is checked off.

I hope this helps others in the future (there are also guides with pictures online on how to do this to make it easier for those who find that visually being able to see the steps is more helpful to them).

Glad to see you have resolved your issue Krakoon. Would you post your solution in the tech support section where you posted your problem please? It will make it easier to see it's been fixed (and how).

Also if anyone knows of a nice guild who would take in a lvl 1 right away, that'd be sweet. Hopefully an active one with enough people in it to make it fun b:thanks
