Arc Not Recognizing your PWI Install [Free Stuff Inside][Ended]

Hey everyone,

As a heads up, we are aware of this issue and are working on a fix. In the meantime, you may need to re-download your PWI client. Yes I know it's a pain, but for now it's the safest bet. If you go this route, make sure to remove your older folders to avoid any software conflicts later on.

Alternatively, some users have reported that a simple PC reboot fixed their problem. I suggest you try that first, then uninstall/re-install if necessary.

You will not lose progress or anything on your character. This simply removes the old client and re-installs a fresh client.

We're also giving out some free potion packs that you can redeem through Arc. You can find more info about that here: http://community.arcgames.com/en/news/pwi/detail/3040823-have-some-free-potions-on-us_

Edit: Since some of you may ask, you get 9 of each potion that stacks in 3's.

    Funny, I've had no issues with Arc and I've got the old installment of PWI. Thanks for the info though.

    The biggest thing that is annoying me about this is missing the daily check in. It only takes one miss to completely ruin your month and year... I know for a fact I wont get PWI installed again before reset. Do you think we could get like a code that allows us to gain an absent note for free to redeem on Arc?

    I got a question, and Im sorry if its already answered somewhere in 1365127365 ARC treads..

    I was one of those who had to reinstal PWI trough ARC to be able to play, and tbh I was afraid to delete old PWI folder and I didnt see this tread before, so.. Now I have folder thats 19 GB in size with PWI_en folder within it (this folder appeared after arc download). So I was wondering which ones of those are not needed to delete it.     Delete both and go play on some private server with fast leveling and free cubi. :(

    Of wht i see you have 2 PWi clients in 1 folder..

    When you look http://prntscr.com/36w0voThis is my client and the PWI_en folder You will find http://prntscr.com/36w17m

    So its actually exacly the same check wich one is working correctly when you get the game launched from arc i have a feeling that it most likely will be the PWI_en folder because thats how the PWi client is put together atm, it makes the PWI_en folder while the old client installer usually just installed the Config,element... folders into the Perfect world Entertainment folder.

    Arc/pwi works for 9 of 10 ppl.

    Those 1/10 might have done something wrong with their files, or just computer isnt good at all.

    Well, let's hope I'm not one of those 1/10 'stupid' or 'poor' people, as I use a pre-pay mbb dongle and to re-dl pwi would cost me ~$40-50

    Oh wait... I play pwi and even spent some money sometimes... but not much...
    So I guess I am both stupid and poor, don't look good for me being able to make ARC see my existing pwi install

    Correct, it's not PWI's fault. It's PWE's fault. They pushed out a beta DRM bloatware/software to the player base, when for the last 6 months people have disowned the idea of having to use Arc as the mandatory method of playing the game. Originally, we had other methods of downloading & installing PWI.

    So, is it really the player that is at fault, when PWE decided to force a piece of DRM down everyone's throat in order to play the game that they have been playing just fine without said software for 5 years (MY players could have been playing PW longer.

    9 of each...in stacks of 3....who has the bag room for that first off? secondly...do u really think some pots are really a solution to the huge upset arc is causing players? I'm honestly offended at this. PWE should be ashamed of itself are u guys not even reading the posts people are making?

    Nothing wrong with 2 computers, nothing wrong with files, have been playing for 4 years with it set up the same and now this ARC bs is shoved down our throats and it isn't recognizing the already installed game? Oh WOW, and we get free potions for using ARC, gee, thx b:angry

    im the girl who kinda dont even understand computer stuff- i could say
    I dont have the best laptop ever.

    So how come i have 0 problems with Arc and pwi
    While other cant even play?

    There must be something what they did with files before..or idk

    idk. I didnt like the old download install... i mean it took me 1-2 days

    Now if i want to download game via arc and install it- it takes me around 3-4h

    so im pretty happy with arc o.o

    i logged in no problems what so ever didn't take a rocket scientist to get it to work on Arc for me at all i didn't have to alter no files nor re-install the game at all idk why ppl had such a hard time.......

    Not sure why a bad computer should even be an issue if it played PWI before Arc. My own laptop is ancient and my connection isn't great. However, it currently plays the large subscription MMO I moved to that rules prohibit me to name. I'd love a reason to return to PW, but I'm 6 months behind on updates, so I have a huge, slow download either way and I'm not even sure my laptop can handle the extra mem usage from Arc.

    Yeah, I'll get a new computer soon. Not flaming, complaining or anything like that. Just saying, from the point of view of a past player, mandatory Arc really gives less incentive to return. In fact, in the last year I haven't seen a single real incentive to encourage returning players. Which is a shame, because it wouldn't take much to make the game appealing again.

    Or could be time to move on? This actualy is helping me to leave this game for good, since i wont install arc, so see you in Diablo 3 (i can name it since its not an mmo) if anyone goes round there.

    Rebirthing wasn't appealing? IMO, I found it to be pointless with no New low-level content to go with it. But others I know first hand have told me Rebirthing reinvigorated their interest in the game.

    You didn't say it, but you did kind of imply it.

    It really doesn't have much to do with how good/bad your pc is; if you can play pwi, adding ARC is unlikely to affect your gameplay noticeably in terms of raw system resource usage.

    What happens for some people, is the interaction between the many and myriad other pieces of software that run on their systems cause unintended and unforseen conflicts.

    This happens with even well designed and extensively debugged software, the reason ARC is a more visible problem here is because, well, we all are here... if you see what I mean.

    The reason you have had no problems is most likely because you are lucky enough to be using a system configuration that ARC developers have tested their software on.

    i feel like i'm breaking the law when i have to go around arc to dual client. btw.. thanks whoever shoved this piece of **** down our throats. i hope u make some money off of players who see pwi when they are tired of their own **** game which is also on arc. b:surrender

    I just did a full reinstall.

    All that done, I like the way I'm "auto logged in". Arc essentially eliminates exactly one screen from the log in process.

    To dual client, I just open the second one through elementclient.exe

    RAM usage has gone up though. I use 90% of my memory with a second client opened.
