Inconsiderate botting/ auto-cultivation

Am I the only player that is totally pi$$ed off with this??

Whenever I go to do a daily, whether BQ or in Morai theres some idiot killing everything, even stealing a mob from right under your nose, and ofc pinching your drops as well!

Why the hell don't these people go somewhere remote to do their auto-culti??

If Dreamweaver was a PK server I'm sure they'd do it in the quietest place possible! I'm not at all pvp-oriented but I'd gladly blast all botters to hell b:angry

And don't respond by telling ME to look for another spot to quest - why the hell should I be dictated to by these inconsiderate a$$holes!!!?

Question is, who cares? PWCN doesn't, as they have all pvp servers, meaning that's not at all an issue. For Pvp servers bot is just some random lvl helper, I've personally not even found a single random char farming DQ out there using Bot, I'd just kill them tbh.

Don't expect a fix for that in pve servers as China won't just care about server-specific issues.

I would find it so funny if bots could tab to other players to kill, and then the bots end up farming other peoples toons b:laugh

If they are looting, I've found making coin trails to be rather effective. f:cute Sometimes if I'm feeling saucy I throw in some woven fang arrows.
And no, you're not the only one who thinks this is annoying. Personally, though, I find the complaining itself kind of amusing; anyone who has played this game for a while will tell you that this is certainly not the first time people competed for grinding/questing spots. Solution: learn how to snipe, or go somewhere else.

I haven't really noticed a whole lot of negatives in the economy due to botting. Mats from mobs are down and are more abundant. Tokens are up, but they were rising before bots anyways. I don't deal in gold in the AH so can't give any status on that.

yes and no:

1. pve servers: well ill speak for HT had a a good few botters before, we had people botting nearing 104/105 before goons, we had people get all their MoG for r9 (remember that DQ reward) from botting (and hundreds of millions from the tradeability glitch), we had a some people running 5-10 bots and selling gold for cash

now: most people are botting, there are still people running 5-10 bots without any repercussions and they are starting to **** up prices/competition

BUT: those that didnt bot before and are now get enough for their random dyes, their charms for TW/NW, some smilies, tisha/tienkangs

there are still some people that can't leave their computer on, or cant figure out botting, and of course its easier for some classes than others

i would say its equailized the playing field some but it really hasnt changed too much just that the baseline for the poorer people is a bit higher

ill add the heroic chest? or whatever glitch that gave some people millions of DQ points was pretty bad too, there are some people still selling random dye service from those days...

and yes everywhere is freaking crowded, the worst is BQ mobs in morai imo, some of the other daily quests are annoying, but besides it being hard to find a good spot to bot its doesnt effect gameplay outside of BQ/morai dailys

additionally its funny some of the big name pkers now hide blue name to bot more

Good info, so PVE servers aren't as broken as I thought due to boting because they already were before because of ilegal boting / glitch exploiting O.o

Oh well, good point is most people playing PVE servers shouldn't worry that much about OP gear for the daily base as we do in PVP.

Doesn't PWCN have some kind of limitation? I remember reading/seeing someone mention the "earning time" that supposedly makes mobs stop dropping things after a certain period of time.

That could be an easy way to put limitations on botting. At least people wouldn't have a reason to bot 24/7 with multiple toons, unless they just want the EXP, in which case it doesn't mess up with anything in-game.

Your annoyance can hardly be rational. It is extremely easy to get your kills when bots are working in the area.
So since it cannot be rational I think there is something else in your brain that is causing this hatret. It might be something like you knowing those players gain something without doing anything while you are working hard or some other form of jealousy. Cant look into your brains to see the tiny details.

So the answer is no, i do not have the same problem.

time limit would just favor those with multi toons/accounts

i think some areas are time controlled for botting like primordial, not 100% sure though

actually it can be annoying and quite rational, especially if youre not OP, in some areas a r9s3+12 will be 1 shotting all the mobs and not picking drops, and have just 1 alt picking drops, effectively theyll have a pretty decent radius cleared out, ive seen 3 such setups near eachother for fire eaters

ive also seen at hammer bats over 10 people botting, really reduces the number of mobs for people there...

I see maybe a few stray bots here and there but it's not like they are obstructing literally every single mob so it is physically impossible for me to do anything. And they can't pick up your drops right away, so long as you don't just leave them sitting around long enough for anyone to pick up.

There IS another solution. Channels.

In new starter area you'll notice that they have a channels functionality. At the moment there is only 1 channel. If we added say 10 or so channels to pwi main map- and a few channels each of the OHT/Hell/Heaven/Primal/Morai... we wouldn't have this problem.

Everyone could switch channels till they found a free spot to get their quest mobs. Or bot. Or whatever.

I don't think you're irrational to be irritated by this.
It makes sense to be annoyed when it gets in the way of your active playing.
On the one hand, yeah, you should be able to kill your stuff.
On the other hand, yeah, there are usually more than one place where the mobs are, so looking around for an emptier spot isn't totally an unreasonable request.

It does annoy me when people are logging 5+ accounts to bot, because I'm a fairly strict stickler to rules, but there's not much you can do to stop it, so I can see why people are taking an "if you can't beat'em, join'em" mentality.

When I bot, I try my best to be polite about it, and not set my range too high, or bot on the most actively needed mobs. Botting on the timed quest morai mobs or BQ mobs is fairly rude though, considering how many people need those regularly enough to make it disruptive at times.

I admit, botting has made me less considerate of people around me, as sometimes it's hard to tell if someone is a bot or a player, so I'll just start killing things regardless of who is around instead of moving away a little like I used to do; I usually just assume people in the area are bots until they take actions that bots don't usually do.

Right now we're just going to have to wait n see if they tweak the mechanic any, because people are -still- getting irritated, and aren't going to stop being so. At least that should cause them to pay attention to the issue, as active players needs should be attended to. It's the active players who take priority, not bots. At least, it should be that way.

Be smart, divide all DQ items into separate slots and fill your inventory, so bot only pics up coins and DQ`s.

The only issue I have with bots is mainly with caster/archer bots, since most tend to 1shot everything before you ge the chance to get aggro first and the fact that A LOT of players lacks common sense and tend to set their bots in an area where there are already 2 or more people botting or actually playing.

IMO there should be a time limit on how much you can bot really... Like the exaustion time from hypers or something. b:surrender

imagine making an account solely for autoculti with character slots maxed out with lv100s geared sharing the same gear with account stash. Time limit up, on to the next one b:chuckle

My complaint is perfectly rational thank you, and I certainly have no problem about botting per se. Quite easy to see what I'm thinking surely? I just want them to bot elsewhere (as do all the other players who I speak to who are also trying to do their quests).

And it may be just as easy to get kills when ppl are botting, but you'll need to attack a lot more mobs than you get kills for, and it will probably take twice as long, mainly because:

(a) they've killed most of the mobs in the area so there's much less for you to go for, and
(b) they kill mobs you've already started attacking so if you need 15 (say) for the quest you'll end up attacking maybe twice as many to get your 15, which means wasted time, energy and resources.

Yes i could go to a different less botted area to get my quest done but my point is why should it be 'normal players doing quests' that have to move just because other players are being inconsiderate and selfish?

If I ever need to auto-cultivate I'll certainly be doing it in the remotest parts of the map.

I've played other games with channels like this and yes it does work well, I have had the same problem with the Auto Cultivation myself in Heaven/Lothranis, my bm I have in small area and 2 r9rr come and just wipe it out or today they drop herbs 1 at a time for me to pick I had no choice I had to move to another location and with 2x on it's even harder to find a spot to cultivate, pw has made a system to benefit the OP's and cashers IMO but that's just me.

But still, not many people have so many high lvl alts on so many accounts.

Make so that your bot timer refreshes once every week then. That way, I can please myself over the mass QQ from idiots saying they can't make any money now. b:pleased
