Not Defending Warsongs

So I've noticed this trend or at least noticed squads forming up for a warsong run not defended for badges. I'm trying to understand the reasoning behind this and this is why.
1. A non defended Warsong run has double the mobs of a defended one.
2. No last boss, loss of a badge and EoO, weapon molds, money essentially.
3. More mobs means more damage on the tank of said run, more charm ticks (if applicable), and a longer run in general because you spend more time clearing the pavilions to said bosses.
Am I the only one who sees this as just an absolute waste of time and effort for 5 badges when you can do a full with the last boss, in the same time or less and get 6 and walk out with more money and what not. Just logically doesn't make any sense.

Some players not defending pavilions , WHY?
1. They run it with friends and some of their friends cannot solo pavilion. So even for slow run they try to farm.
2. Guild run that dont have much OP ppl. ( prefer not to do last boss because they know on that squad they cannot .)
3. Having hard time getting random ppl to solo pav and thinking it will be fail on boss.0 -

Those badge runs are a lot faster than a full WS run, even if everything is defended.
The idea behind it is to teleport to the pavilion and kill the boss straight away, but yes it needs some good DD's and at least HF. Apo / AD would also be good to use.
Though most of the time when warsong is not defended is when people form BH Snake only, and the squads formed are generally good enough to take out the groups of mobs fast, so why bother defending pavilions while you can do something else while pavilions run? Which nullifies your second and third point pretty much in the case of only running a BH.Soon™

Those are called IG runs on my server, mostly sins with bm/veno do them (squaded up like the old vana days), while Badge runs is for those who cannot solo pavs, but still wish to farm for the badges. Maybe there more mobs, but at least its do able for them.0 -

We call those Spawn runs on the HT server and they still defend the pavilions for the last boss.
Also atm with the ease of getting s2/3 nirvana or r8r if that's your fancy, no one should be struggling to defend a pavilion. Its completely do able was when s3 nirvi and s3r9 first came out prior to NW.0 -

look in wc who does those runs on ht, its mostly the sins that cant properly do spawn runs(not really due to gear either), or cant do the final boss well
defending+spawn method ftw, especially due to point 2
ofc defending is uber boring after a while-thats the biggest legit reasoning i can see for not doing it
even if spawning non defend ws:
also id add without defending you need to clear mobs @ fire and 5/6 at water instead of 3 (or at metal) -its always a pita/bit of time wasted
there are a few major op squads that dont care about money just rerolls and theyll steamroll badge non defend runs, but those are far in between and very few
this coming from someone that ran well over 400 runs0 -
I've farmed probably well over 1000 badges easy. Even my alt mystic with +5 s3 nirvy armor and a +2 s3 Sandy World can defend fire and metal. People act like its hard, yeah I can agree its boring but it makes the run itself easier.0
-
I don't understand that either but people must have their own reasons to do that...
To be honest I often farmed badges in duo or trio and even if we were not enough to defend 5 pavs and go to last boss, we were still defending some pavs just to have less mobs to kill rather than waiting 15 minutes doing nothing...~ Sage Mystic 105-105-105 ~

well if you have a squad where casters are doing full pulls and all the mobs drop in a single spark cycle waiting or doing the mobs wont change the speed. Plus ignoring the final boss saves you a lot of time you could be doing another instanceMarine - Marshall - Raging Tides - Retired

On HL people call that frenzy ws.
People open multiple ws and they don't defend pavs.
Once the timer is done people teleport to the boss and do the boss without clear the pavs.
It's really fast for badges, but not every random squads can do it.0 -
did all pavs with G15+5 wep and partially G16/G15+3 armor
So no; no need for OP people for warsongChannels

Or you have a squad full of people who can't defend, like yourselfb:chuckle.0 -
You don't need to have OP gear to do a full WS run, hell, any instance in this game.
The problem is that players have become too lazy and dependant of R9/aps and use this excuse that the instances are too hard and time consuming, but the fact it that they just wanna steam-roll the whole instance in 5 minutes so that they can spam WC complaining that they are bored outta their minds.
Stop being lazy and actually learn to play. b:bye0 -

I can tank every boss in WS, and am better than 95% of the non farming alt sins on my server. It has nothing to do with knowing how to play. But of course I can expect people such as yourself to make ignorant blanket statements like that.
WS is very time consuming and expensive when you have a squad of low geared people, talking about how good of a player they are, and how much they know their class, when they have **** refines. Good players don't stick around in horrible gear. Don't make excuses for yourself. You talk about OP gear, the question is; Are you r9rr? Do you even have a r9rr toon? If not then you have no right to speak, because it's expensive to get, and expensive to keep up. So of course I don't want to do WS with mobs if I only come there for badges, I can't use the other ****.0 -

Stop trying to justify that better gear = good players. My statement wasn't blank, nor was ignorant."it has nothing to do with knowing how to play". Lol, just lol... and I'm the ignorant one really...
I know a lot of good players that did FW pretty well without OP gear. The fact is, you morons are just lazy, and wanna as many R9 in your squad as you can get.
And what is this **** of "if you don't have R9rr, then you don't have the right to speak"? Of course I do. It's expensive, but it's not mandatory and you can do just fine with any TT 90 average refined gear and vana, which is easily farmable if you actually work for it. The fact is, ever since Rank gear was implanted, all of you ahve became rank dependant and now you think the game is impossible to do without it. Are you just troll, or stupid? People love me in squads. Hell every squad in world chat that says NO SINS i can get into anyway, I don't know many sins that can do that.
As for the second part, you said yourself warsong can be defended in g15 +3-+5 gears, so why do I have to be picky? I do most of the heavy lifting anyway thanks to people like you. But that's exactly why they invite me, unless they are looking for a certain buff. I even take place of barbs in WS and solo clear pavilion wings when mobs spawn, albiet slower bc i cant pull everything, it still moves quickly.

Hmm...
Well see here now, what Dion is saying, though in a slightly condescending manner which I may be also guilty of in a moment, is that if an assassin is good enough, they can mostly replace anybody else in a Warsong squad. Its mostly true. I've done Warsongs with just assassins, and they tend to be as fast or faster than Warsong squads with balanced debuffs and aoes, as long as the individual assassins are strong enough. Barb buffs, bm buffs, and cleric buffs can all be applied before entering the run. If you do enough dmg, bp heals are enough on bosses, and besides, the bosses die before they can do very much dmg to anybody.
As for myself, when I was doing Warsongs, people knew I was the one to invite because if you invite *me*, you get more than just the assassin. You can get my sage-buffs barb, or demon buff bm, or sage buff seeker, or sage cleric, plus ofc the demon assassin. You get somebody who has 4 years of experience playing this game; you get somebody who knows Warsong like the back of his hand, who has, in fact, done 100s of Warsong runs on multiple characters in a variety of squads. In truth---I don't really need others to do Warsong, once the defending is over. They know that, and I know that, and so people love to have me in squads. If I'm in squad, I help ensure that, regardless of what happens, the run successfully completes in as little time as possible.
Now another thing you guys need to consider is that neither Dion nor myself is *necessary* to have in a Warsong run. You guys can do Warsong just fine without us. People like myself or Dion certainly make Warsongs faster (and sometimes safer) but Warsong isn't such a difficult instance that you cannot complete it without us.
People like myself and Dion have done 100s of Warsong runs. Speaking for myself, I didn't have anybody holding my hand while I went through Warsong run after Warsong run, some good, some bad, some really bad. People like me and the 'elite' people you speak of have put in TONS of time in Warsong already to get to where we are.
As such, I personally feel no qualms about organizing Warsong squads with people who have decent gear and know what they are doing. I don't feel obligated to run with people who have underdeveloped gear. If your gear is still kinda sucky, you probably haven't done the time in Warsong that I and my squadmates have. We've worked hard to get to where we are now, or in some people's cases, spent lots. If this is the case, you really have no excuse for disliking us for the work we've put in. If you put in more time/effort/money, you too can get to the place where you can be more picky about the squads you form, because you'll be powerful enough to be somebody that people always, always want in their squads.
Consider it a rite of passage. If you want to prove that you are worth joining the Warsong squads with highly experienced, well-geared people, show that you've done your time in Warsong, so that you too will be experienced, and not hold others back due to your lack of experience or gear.
Now heh---I'm not always against taking somebody new to Warsong. Naturally its faster for somebody new to become good if they see what 'good' looks like. Occasionally when I'm feeling particularly relaxed, 1 or 2 new people in a Warsong run is acceptable, as long as they are willing to follow some basic instructions so as to not fail the run.
But, again, I'm not here to hold your hand. I'm not here to play the game for you, or teach you how you should be doing everything for your character. I'm definitely not here to gear your character for you! If you show a willingness to learn I can suggest things, but really, its your character---you should be learning how to play, and you should be gearing him up! If you aren't willing or able to work at doing either, then again, I feel little obligation to take you on my runs.
Cheers!

Sigh... I meant exactly the opposite , smartass... For sins, it's all easy, since not a single squad will go without at least one sin on it these days...
I tell you what, it not just this game that's broken... it's the whole player base that is. This is the first MMO I ever played where people don't wanna work togetherm because of their gear differences. Basically, the players are split beetween R9rr and the average players right now, and THIS is what you guys can't seem to understand... On any MMO out there, the only way people will turn you down on a squad is if you're too underleveled, but on this game, now it is about who has the rank gear and who has 5 aps.
And this goes for any instance nowadays, not just FWS. I'm talking about BHs, FCCs, Delta, TTs... EVERY SINGLE INSTANCE out there!
New players can barely compete and find a squad anymore, because most of the players are r9 and refuse to take people too undergeared because "I worked for my stuff, why should I lend you a hand? Blah blah blah..." . And this is what I'm trying to show to you, but you're so dumb and blind that you can't see it, or rather, you refuse to see it.
You're the one that needs a therapist badly to check on that tick skull of yours. b:bye0 -

Cheers!
Aeliah
And this is exactly what I'm talking about... Why it's so hard to join a sqaud with a few people that are still working on their gear and lend them a hand, since it's an easy instance for you? So what if you worked hard/spent cash to get your rank gear? Does that makes you feel so better and supperior, that you refuse to squad with anyone not in equal term to you? I'm not saying it's YOUR case, but if your answer to that question is yes, then you're missing the whole point on how to play a MMO, because you're turning it into some kind of "second life", if you get what I mean...
In short, what I'm trying to say is, the fun and social/friendly player factor on this game got twisted badly, because now there are only a few rare people actually whilling to help each other without caring about their gear, and that's what I was trying to debate here.0 -

I give up... no matter what I say, I can't dig on that thick skull of yours and make you understand what I mean... i'm fact, it is so tick that you couldn't even see my ironic comment, when I said that "You're a sin, people hate you guys on squads!", just shows how stupid you are...
You're the one that needs a therapist badly to check on that tick skull of yours. b:bye
Once again you prove yourself to be missing the point. I don't give a damn what kind of gear people have, and neither does Aeliah. We do most of the humping in squads, so the gear of the rest of the members doesnt matter much. HOWEVER, if we wanted to be picky, we have earned that right. You refuse to see that most r9rr players are not picky about the gear of other players unless its the primary healer/tank. And for sins it's not easy, why take a sin when everyone has a BP ho? And if you do take a sin, would you take another? Consider how many sin's people have that are lv100 with **** gears, nothing but fc sellers and g13 aps babies. Why need more than 1? Thats the kind of gear people consider most sins with, so the only take one sin. Which is a problem, because there are so many. But, rainbow squad idiot's will remain, idiots.
As for the "people hate you in squads" part, you just contradicted yourself. People need a sin in squad, doesnt mean they have to like it.0
