new spambot

today a new spambot appeared on Morai server, around 12:30 servertime. (3.30 am pst)

he whispered every character on the server, not at the same time, but in a pretty high speed.
the spambot was NOT in range of the characters he whispered, so it seems he found a way to access the database somehow. there were 2 different messages, advertising some "noname soft" which the player was supposed to google up on the internet. the other message was pretty similar, but got send anonymous..it just appeared on the screen as a whisper without name.

noob, can only run, spawnkiller, only white vodoo, only plays for kd,
never kills anyone, only gear, no skill, no life, cash only, eats dogfood to cash more, lives at moms,
only survives cause of cleric heals, if we had your gear you would lose. b:cryb:cryb:cry

    pretty nice that you notice things like that, but you really make me wonder if you are on 24/7 xDDDD

    Hope that doesn't result in server downtimes to "fix" this problem...but well that is likely gonna happen.

    hello, my onlinetimes are not subject of this thread, but i can ensure you that i am online more than 27 hours a day f:cool

    it seems the spambot is located somewhere in the middle of archosaur and saves all names that appear in t-screen - and later whispers them. im still curious how it manages to whisper without a "sending name".
    i also got told the advertised site contains a keylogger.

    Could you send me a screenshot? I'll poke a GM when they are online. That one sounds rather serious.

    another possiblity the GA program could combat!

    When i can get online later ill check this out sounds intresting must be using a hole to set the no name. as far as im awear only a GM you can not block.

    Just got a pm from it too 2 min ago in middle of arch at HH I have a SS if needed b:angry I hate that bot already. Guess it's all over PW now, huh?

    I just got that pm "from noone" advertising NONAME SOFT on Lost City server too. Scared me b:shocked
    And according to people that pmed me after my wc inquiry, there are others who got it also.
    Should I be worried about getting haxed or something?

    Name of character on Morai server who spam that messages is Maritet . Maybe this can help a bit.

    On HL there's a shop under it, we cannot target it and we think it's maybe the bot.
