its really rare that caster class even that they have 1 skill that deals phisical damage to put tangling mire in their genie, especially for pvp. cuz, i can see that most (if im not saying all) BM, sin and maybe other melee class like seeker and barb have tangling mire on their genie. so if the attempt is to make usefull for others, i think that is not their priority interm of needs. Especially in TW.
regarding absorb soul, the skill really have long channeling. so i dont think tangling mire is really usefull for mystic. thats my opinion.0 -
I have holy path, tangling mire, and leaf dance atm. Holy path, for obvious reasons. Tangling mire is mostly for when i'm dding in a party, or soloing a boss the long lazy chihyu way. It ofc helps out chihyu, but it's really great for cragglord, because, while craggy's skills are fire, he still does physical attack, and quite strong ones at that, so, having ~ 50% pdef reduction with 80 str on genie...can dish out alot of damage. And I like leaf dance, because of the 2% crit rate increase, that, with 60 genie strength, lasts 2 minutes, which is long enough for most boss fights, to help increase my overall dps. Not by much though, but any crit can help. XD
At lvl 70, when my fail genie has enough LP, it's getting cloud eruption, which, with the ammount of strength my genie will have, should give me at least 2 sparks when I use it. Another skill I'll probably get, but more towards endgame, when I have a good genie, is Bramble Rage, for that bit of extra aoe damage, since, asides from summons, I only have 2 aoes. XD But that's just me.0 -

Since I know you use your summon as tank you should check for the skill Frenzy, when you use it and summon your devil (or other summons) the summon have the attack level bonus.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Trying to justify tangling mire on an arcane genie is pointless.
Here's what you should all do
1) go to the watcher of earth
2) unlearn 10 levels of tangling mire
3) learn 10 levels of extreme poison or even elemental weakness or whatever it's called
Done. Gg.

The main stem of nonsense comes from the claim: Tangling mire is a viable genie skill to have on a mystic for both PVE and PVP because you are a support class that is almost always in a squad.
For a class that deals no physical damage efficiently surely extreme poison is just a much better choice since it amplifies ALL damage not just physical.
Sure for a seeker or sin or barb or BM or even archer (not so much though) that has big physical AOE's - Tangling mire should be on THEIR genies.
Why is the onus on a magic class that has no real physical damage to have a skill that could be so easily replaced with something much more efficient...

Mystics - If you want an idea about what genie you should try and make heres a list of decent skills you should all be thinking about- im not going to put the full description - go find out for yourself what they do and decide if you like it or not

1) 100 magic - rest of the points in vit Genie
OR
2) 90+ dex about 50 magic and 60 vit genie.

Actually if there's a veno or barb in squad don't use tangle mire or you will **** them off, demon veno have 3 skills to debuff p.def to 0 and barb 50%.
Bm also have a skill that do 50% p.def and m.def that cost 2 spark if you tangle mire on them they won't be happy and probably ask you to keep your tangle mire away if you make them waste 2 sparks.
Mystic is support, but not for debuff for p.def and m.def.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

That only applies if they don't know what they're doing. Mire is a separate debuff from the phys defense debuffs those classes have available and it actually stacks with the regular class phys defense debuffs, which means if you combine mire when they debuff it'll be something they should enjoy due to the damage increase it provides.
The only exception to this is a complete phys break (IE: Demon ironwood proc) and that's not so much a case of it making things worse so much as being redundant and wasting your genie's energy because you aren't lowering a mob's pdef below 0.
That misconception out of the way, a mystic has no real reason to have Mire on their genie. It's just not worth it when you have much better options and the phys DDs should have it if they plan to use it anyways.(Insert fancy image here)0 -
