Which class is best for NW ?

My vote for best NW class would go for archers hands down. Every other class, including sins, I did have a chance of sorts to fight, or at least to escape (I'm still at the point where I realize I'm making lots of mistakes because of inexperience) and that's saying a lot as an 8xer on molders and 1 stars without a nix. Archers even when I caught off guard or already engaged on others I could never kill, even the ones I was getting decent damage on, and I was holding my own against some barbs (lowbies like myself I pressume). If you add the speed argument that's been discussed here I can think of no class more ideal or better suited for NW. The thing for me is they're good kiters and have good ways to counter almost anything you can throw at them. And they're very efficient killers, I got to see some on spawn points basically owning the spot.
On sins, yeah they got plenty of kills against me (I also got to kill quite a few back) but ONLY when stealthing and, much to my surprise, I was rarely 1 shotted. I got to zap some with hood (which is pretty easy to avoid and far from insta-cast) and probably would have gotten a few more had I been better prepared. The only ones who stunned me did so after giving me ample opportunity to use an anti-stun (which I didn't because of CD and slow reflexes) and even a few got killed by people on my side on the process of taking me out, which is certainly kind of noobish seeing they should have quickly realized I was a low priority target. Now I will grant there may have been better sins on my side keeping me safe, but they didn't strike me as much of a threat and never made themselves present at the key moments. I can honestly say clerics got more kills on me. Ofc this boils down to the quality of players as opposed to the potential for the class, but with sins being a favourite of farmers and FCC babies I just don't see them becoming much of a factor short to mid term. And as some have said, it is likely that sooner rather than later tactics will evolve to counter them.0 -
I know you get more points for returning the flag than for killing one person. I am still trying to figure out how to get max points. We were doing a lot of 4v20 on some lands we won eventually and got 3k personal credits for kills/flag returns. Seems the less of you more of them and a war that lasts 5-10mins + you get more credit than a 2-5min win of capturing the flag quickly.
I also heard you can get on your mount while carrying the flag but have not confirmed this. Though i don't see how this would help, as you cannot defend yourself at all on a mount.My main was Susamajii The Lost City Barbarian.0 -

He wasn't afk as a matter of fact he had just arrived at sp and was running around when it happened.
But as to what you said yeah it could have alot ended that way very fast seeing sins magic def sucks balls but it didnt happen idk didn't seem like he had AD/fortify on him at the time and yea he was charmed thats what mainly kept him alive because his hp was going down by the chunks.0 -
Theres so much sin bashing here just seems like some people are mad at what the class is capable of(in terms of aps) in pve and 1v1 pvp and just to happy to see the tables turned against them in mass pvp to the point where they completely overlook what the class is capable of. By no way am i saying assassins are the best in my eyes no class is the best what matter is how effectively you use it because every class excels one way or another it just up to the player if they can bring out the classes full potential and the assassin is no different.
Everyone can easily see that in mass pvp one assassin can be overwhelmed easily because they were mainly developed to excel in 1v1 but you decide to have more of a scout assault squad they can actually be able to make things easier for everyone on your side, with good communication and a well thought out plan you can have a small team of 2sins and 1 bm to go before the rest of the team in order to take out the opponents with a surprise aoe assault starting with roar of the pride, HF sin1 triple sparks, sin2 puts down sub sea((not in that order), 2 both sins earth rift, bm spam aoes, sins regain chi (which can be done quickly), BM ROTP again(thinking demon here) repeat until rest of the squad comes to finish off whats there to be finished off if threes anything to be finished off.
This was just an example and was not really put out in correct order but this is just to show they have there uses(i know there are things that the other squad could do to have this back fire *** well), there are many more thing you can do depending on the situation and what your up against and if the and if the sin know what they are doing just gotta work together and use your head.
No class is useless only people who think this are the ones who might not know how to use said class to there advantage0 -

Here is how all the speed skills stack up for flag runners:
Alacrity archer = 11.7m/s
WoB BM = 6m/s
Tiger Barb = 5.4m/s
Demon Veno = 4.5 m/s
There is nothing at all that comes close to Alacrity. It is in a class of itself for NW.
When combined with a charger orb / shadow binder it is a guaranteed 30s capture.
Naw my point was avoiding getting stunned, sealed, and frozen, while being able to tank better damage. 15x6 = 90, 11.7x8 = 93.6 - Id call that even distance, but with 7 seconds less of immunity.
Unless you're being completely ignored, you're not gonna be fully stun immune the whole time. Stun immune is more of a factor than ground cover tbh, especially when your opponent can run as fast as they want after you (and why I killed so many flag runners)

Capture the flag is actually much different than TW and that's where the confusion is. In TW you have to slow down for the cata and stand still to kill towers / HQ while tanking lots of damage.
Capture the flag is much more like football. The people who make the touchdowns in football are fast and light, not big and slow.
There is 1 way to freeze someone that has anti stun up.
The wizard skill Blinding blaze. Even if you have anti stun up, you will still get frozen when you have the debuf on you. This is because you don't actually freeze them, you debuf them. The freeze is later9 out of 10 voices in my head say I'm not crazy... the 10th is singing the music of tetris0 -
I played Veno, and I did better than I anticipated I would <.< because I'm both terrible at pvp, and I don't do well with new things right away >.>
Veno I feel is a pretty solid choice, but I guess I'm biased XD
I'm pretty sure that Archer would be a great pick too.
Any high dd range character, magic or physical, is usually pretty stellar in this kind of environment.
It seems undecided whether support/heal generates the same kind of contribution that direct dd/flag runs/kills generates; some people said their support cleric did well, some said they did poorly. If it did, I would totally play cleric, but since I don't run a very damagey cleric I'll stick to the damage dealing characters.
Really though from talking to various people who played various classes, the majority of them had a ****-ton of fun and were pleased with their contribution reward!
Based on this, I surmise that the class you like playing best is the best class for NW.0 -
I'm gonna have to go with barb my friend was in my nation when we won on his barb and got over 400 tokens. I guess you get a lot of contribution on barb because you can take dmg and dish out some dmg. He just ran into groups of people and aoe'd while being healed.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Psychic because sins are drawn to us like moths to a flame, then we get craptons of free points because dumbass sins can't figure out they probably shouldn't be jumping riskier targets that are surrounded by teammates.

Vit-specced demon veno w/ s3 R9 wep would probably be the best flag capper. 120% un-purgeable p. def in fox gives you enough survivability to proc purify vs archers/sins, you have a natural speed boost as well as the free holy path from purify, have multiple ways to become CC immune (morai skill, summer sprint, purify proc) as well as bramble hood and a natural ironguard skill.
combine that with a cleric or mystic and they could probably single-handedly cap vs the entire enemy team. (prolly wont even need the healer)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Good alternative as well, but tbh getting purify and 3 def lvl adds is a longshot. Still, it's cheap enough that I guess you could reroll untill it lands.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
