My first language is not english and i wasn't speaking english at all when i start play the game (well a bit, but not much), but i'm someone who want to learn, i always been in english factions. My primary language is french, there's 2-3 french factions on my server, i tried it, but didn't like it, i prefer be in a english faction in a english game.

When i wasn't understand something i was asking, i was not scare to ask what a word mean or ask to amiliorate my english, ofc my english is not perfect, i learn everyday, but it's at least enough good to understand people and make people understand me.

The problem with spanish, french, etc... factions is, they take a faction with their main language to make it easy, but they don't try to learn english at all, so when they go in a random squad they understand nothing and cannot say anything else than ''no anglihs''.

People don't wanna learn and we can't force them.

I can sympathize with the frustration some people may feel when they find themselves in a situation in which their playtime may be ruined by players who a) don't master English to a sufficient degree that they are able to comunicate clearly and efficiently and/or b) don't realize that MMO gaming does require a certain small degree of knowledge and skill. Yes, I believe that while you shouldn't be required to write and read English at the same level as a native speaker, you certainly don't belong in this game if you cannot properly express yourself in this language or understand what others are trying to say to you. And it certainly is my opinion all players should make the minimal effort that is required to play their basic role in a squad.

However I do take issue with singling out a specific ethnic group. Players of all backgrounds, including anglophone countries, are certainly capable of writing in br, 1337, and other such gibberish, and as for nubness, well... I am Mexican, I do tend to avoid myself Spanish speaking factions as, in my experience, most tend to heavily emphasize regionalism and isolation which are things that I opose out of basic principle, and this is something I do believe negatively impacts MMO gaming. In here what matters is that we are all people first, gamers second, our class third, and everything else (nationality, age, gender, etc.) a distant fourth, which does not mean we cannot bond over other things we may also have in common. I hope you understand that this attitude can be seen as stemming from somewhere else when you point your finger at a certain group of people.

The real problem here is broken mechanics (genies, aps) allowing others to take away our jobs in squads.

Don't get why people would do it.
    For some reasons such as:
    1. The English server gets closed down for lack of interest from the publisher whereas thr other non-English servers still run without problems. No sign of getting closed down or whatsoever.
    2. Wanting to feel the experience of the upcoming updates earlier than anyone else to be able to make a guide and help other players in the English server.

Those two are my reasons, but first, I usually find someone who can understand both languages, English and the major language spoken on the server.
Also, before I jump into the non-English servers, I learned the basic words that the players commonly used in the game.
For example, I memorized the Chinese words (including the Pinyin) for bottom, middle, top, push, die, kill, miss (MIA), back and base before I started playing Tian Yi Jue.

lmfao look at perses here,mr or misses i know everything about spelling and typing. everyone makes spelling mistakes. i saw all my grammar mistakes when i was done. i can care less if make a few errors. im not gonna bother correcting every underlined word. as long as people can read and understand im not adding every little comma and capital. and i know im hated for this thread lols. dont care. let him add me to his collection of idiots :]

It seems you like to moderately rage at people who correct your issues. Listen, this is a forum on the internet. This is not a text message sent between you and your best friend, or **** buddy, or whatever you wish to call the other person who is recieving the message. People who read the threads, tend to like a person who can spell and structure their sentences in a logical and readable manner.

With what you had shown in your first post, I personally was unable to read past the first ten (10) words before I had to stop and proceed to correct all of them so that I was able to read the few sentence paragraph that you had conjured before us in this board to read. Sadly, it seems that you are unwilling to correct these mistakes yourself, as you clearly stated in your thrown together with your very low level writing skills.

With all of that said, I bid you a-do. As I don't wish to converse, nor associate, with somebody who is unable to clearly type a sentence with proper structure within a forum of any kind, so that others may be able to clearly understand the legible writing of that person and then understand the clear idea behind the said persons post or thought.

    Good day.

Maybe I am in the minority here, and issues I have had in game squads at my level were with those whose native tongue is English, but I am fascinated by culture. Since I doubt I will get a chance to see all the countries in my bucket list, meeting people in the game or in real life while out and about, from places other than the US, chatting with them, even if their English is broken, its a helluva lot better than my knowledge of the many languages out there. I have met some great people out there and in game and even with a bit of a language barrier, made some endearing friendships.

Maybe my compassion for "foreigners" is based on the fact I am a first generation American, being that my family came to the states from Italy, Poland, and Hungary.

    Barely any at all.

But you do need a fair bit of it to even acquire the equipment needed to reach 5 aps without CSing.

To the OP: On the top right of each post there is an icon, red bar top, pencil inside, with lines. Click on the posts you want to quote, by clicking that icon. Click on multiple posts, on that icon. After that click post reply. All the icons you clicked will appear as quotes in your message. This will avoid you posting multiple times, makes it look neater as well.

I just have one question, how do you say HF (heaven's flame) so that spanish speakers can understand it? As long as they hf, i am happy.

Also to all the people who have problems with foreign players, communication issues. It is not because they are foreigners, it is because they are lazy, don't know how to play. Playing inability does not discriminate against languages. There are some barbs, who run up to mobs, and run back, they speak english fine. They are too lazy to click on skills. There are sins who will not bp you until their bp is gone. There are clerics who will not buff you until you are at the boss. There are bm who will not bell. List is endless, these players come from all over the world, from all paths of life, avoid them. It is not a cultural, language thing. It is a personality thing. Some people just don't take the game as seriously as we do.

    It's definitely not a race/culture/language specific thing.

It's an idiot thing. The language barrier makes un-idioting people just more difficult. I've left more squads due to idiot native english speakers than ESL players.

    real f'n EZ:

a)the COMMON server language to facilitate effective communication IS ENGLISH.

b)you speak ENGLISH in COMMON game venues like WC, squad and faction chats to FACILITATE COMMUNICATION AMONGST ALL WORLD PLAYERS WHO UNDERSTAND ENGLISH IS THE COMMON LANGUAGE FOR THIS SERVER.

    c) NON-ENGLISH is NON-STANDARD/COMMON and no one should be expected to understand non-english.

    d) private non-english factions/squads/common chats is your business since it is not COMMON server functions.

SO...you insult, confuse and alienate YOURSELVES when you think you are really f'n clever and blabbing en espanol or porusky or wtf like a boss. RT also has srs problems with the latinos f'n sht up.

i have a list. if someone INSULTS ME by speaking non-english in common chat venues, their name gets hand written on a list. a shtlist. anyone on that list gets kicked from squad or i leave. i wont sell /buy/help or anything with these people who insult me.

fwiw, i have nothing but praise and encouragement for non-english speakers who really try to work the english. i often pm someone who is struggling to see if i can quietly help them.

AMERICAN ******* who give non-english speakers a bunch of grief because they didnt get it right are fcktards of the highest degree and as damaging as the gibbering spicolis to the common communication of the game by discouraging this valiant attempt to do the right thing.

ALSO, as mentioned way above, some americans are SO RETARDEDLY IGNORANT, they cannot even speak english. i am so humiliated as an american by you idiot, ignorant, intolerant other americans. y'all need to **** and go to school.

In conclusion: there is no humanfail filter on pwi, so glwt...lol
