    Depend what you plan to do, do you plan to PvP and do TW or just PvE?

    At an endgame pure mag build i would recommend high refines for HP , good refined physical necklace and belts for phys def and Diamond of Dragon (DoT) for DEF LVL which help in protection of any type of dmg.

    till that stick to simple Citrines with phys ornaments.

    for me is mainly PVE, my current phy def on char is 2252, def lvl is 16... HP is 3776. vit is 3.

    i'm looking at better survivability during boss/mob fights. (AOE etc)

    so phy def is better?

    High p.def is normally more needed in PvP and TW, if you are not sure maybe just putone piece in garnet rest in cit.

    not trying to nerf the thread but @97+ how much vit should a veno have? I've got alot from when I was lower and I'm using both citrine and garnet.. I'm pve type player, though I do go after jerks that pk me.

    can u link your pwcalc stats pls? it would help to give u advice.

    u didnt mention whats your current gear and/or further gear plans.

    thats needed to know before thinking about shards, refines aso.

    for example: it wont make sense to shard DOD`s or something like that if plan to stay on tt90 gear.

    Remembering how much you died in BH seat...

    Shard with some immaculate citrines. And try getting your gears 4+/+5. Then you should be safe.
    If you can afford higher refines, feel free to replace some of those citrines with garnets.

    I would love a build like this ...

    gear may be different than yours , but you can get a taste of how shards & refines should be.

    If you focus on Rank 8 recast , focus on adds that add defence HP or VIT.

    Yea i knew that you know that you prolly just mix it when you wrote it. :)

    Ripokeke: I agree with the other advices. If you can you should try to farm TT99 wrist, they give hp and keep the chan and the refine will give you more hp.

    And i would personally try to get a other tome, i don't play veno mainly, but i think 1% crit is not a big deal for veno and a vit/magic tome could be better.

    Either a mag/vit or str/vit tome will do.
    Advantage of a str/vit tome...ALL classes need a str stat. You can swap around the str/ vit tome betwen your toons with a account stash stone

    Yup, i personally only play caster class, so i got a vit tome and a magic one, cause even with account stash sometime i'm too lazy and let a tome on each char so it's less stuff to stash. xD

    i don't remember cause i die quite alot, only time i remember is my first try on vana caster, used 12 GA in that run b:cry (after that i dont bring GA for caster, cause clerics usually have res 11)

    i will try to get some immaculate citrines. just checked dragon orbs prices, +4 cost 4.5mill and +5 cost 10mill each at catshops. b:shocked

    any cheaper way to get +4/+5 other than dragon orbs? b:sad

    ok, i'll try to farm tt99 Sorceress's Soul. but i see the chance of drop is like 0.3% for solo mode? not sure if i can kill the boss until i try.

    i use 1% crit because it's free b:chuckle

    less damage with lower hp can be healed faster than much damage on lots of hp

    also there are 4pdef buffs you can get which
    - foxform
    - vanguard
    - bell
    - from pots(same symbol as demon bell timed extra pdef)

    get your pdef up with cheap exclusive shards from morai and your armor refines with mirages to +5

    U are for pdef? I already bought 6 immaculate citrines for my body and pant.

    You can use Tisha and/or Tienkang stones. They are roughly 150k-300k each if you buy it from catshops, they are free if you have any event gold (from DQ or whatever). Getting +4/+5 is relatively easy, you just need some patience.

    If you use a couple and you fail, try at a different hour or at a different day. That way you might spend less than 1mil to +5 a piece. I +5 my belt with just 150k for example and +6 some of my gear with stones from event gold after grinding for DQ during 2x. Just give it a try, if it doesn't work, try again the next day or at a different Elder npc.

    I myself have quite poor gear atm, and died several times in caster at first 2 runs, but then I changed blessing from Jones to O'Malley's and since am ok.

    I am a pure magic build veno, lvl 101, and I would suggest only 1 thing. Make sure you use P def necky and belt (higher the refine on those, the better).

    Personally; I reckon about 50% hp shards, and 50% pdef shards.

    SOMEHWERE there is a nice graph of which gives more survival; I can't seem to find it any-more though.

    Anyway; personally I try to keep them roughly equal. And as high as possible. (Swapping out the pdef for channel and vice vera on neck+belt, when needed)

    I really REALLY like Sky Demon's Pearl which gives great HP and good pdef at the same time.
    The +str isn't all that useful, mind you.
