New SoT / Abba

Wanted to make a comment about sins using skills.
Not realy necessary, can safely use a bow like archers to do good damage.
Dont even need to spark b:victory

Yeah most sins go with a basic tt70-90 bow, some like mine have a lunar cause an unspecting purge in TW annoyes barbs. Of course their are some others that have op nirvana bows, but usually the sins that do are the ones with G15 +12 with GoF and 2x -.05 or r9 and they don't need a squad for the boss lol.

Well honestly, and this isn't meant be be an offence but all you do is assume, that those things might be the way some people say. Just did BH Seat with a 5.0 Barb, 5.0 sin, 3.33 sin, one seeker, one wizard and one cleric. We apsed the boss all the time, no nasty DoT, no deaths, just perma sparked aps nubs xD The only thing I noticed was that it healed way more while we were apsing it compared to when we did nothing.

And whats the redicolous roumor with the crazy 1 shot DoT =? Pulled it with Earth Flame...nothing happened...we sparked...hit that thing for like 3 minutes...it was dead.

What are u ppl talking about =? SoT boss just got higher PDef and a self-heal. The Aba boss deals intense DMG when u aps it while he is buffed. SoT Boss is a lil kitten compared to aba and still.

If you're not completely dumb then killing those bosses is easy as hell. Don't go with random Squads, ijs. =D

Average geared players don't have much better then +7 refines... or even close to that hp to tank it hun. Try to keep it in the perspective on the typical player.

Maybe good for a claw user but all his post proves is that any tank barb can tank it the normal way in tiger form with cleric heals. It's the same thing as saying your archer tanked something.

Guess lower geared ppl have to use more of a strategy and I rly like thos new bosses. I hate the brainless afk apsing on bosses, new challenging ones are always welcome. SOmetime I just dont aps on my barb because it's simple annoying xD

Guildmate linked to this thread. You're committing a common form of sampling bias error. Say you want to find out how much the average person rides the subway. So you get on the subway and start surveying random people asking how many hours per week they ride. In the end you tally the results, figure out the average, and have your answer. Right?

Nope. Asking people on the subway means you have a higher probability of asking a person who rides the subway more. If someone rides the subway 10 hours a day and another person rides it 15 minutes each day, who are you more likely to run across while doing your survey? And you have zero chance of surveying someone who didn't even ride the subway that day.

In the same way, the people you most frequently see in-game are the hard-core players. The ones who are online 10+ hours a day are over-represented in any in-game sample of gear, while the casual players who play a couple nights a week are under-represented. The hardcore players typically have much better gear than the casual players. So if you think of the gear you typically see on other players every time you play, that is not the average. It's skewed high, probably very high.

In other words, the bulk of the players, the average (median), are geared worse than you'd see by picking bunch of random characters one night and inspecting their gear. The first post (assuming it's correct) is very helpful to this majority of non-hardcore players on the occasional nights they can login to play and do BH.

Another thing I'd like to point out :
On SoT boss you can auto-attack and rely on your aps, but it will only make the boss longer to kill. On Aba boss you can auto-attack and rely on your aps, but this will only make boss harder.

But well, most are exactly what I said on 1st page : the epic geared ppl that can't get out off their habit, then make ppl think "if with all those +10~12, aps and r9 it takes 3 minutes to kill, how long would it take me to kill b:cry. These new bh are soooooo hard b:surrender". While actually, it will also take them 3 minutes with TT99/r8 +5ish and a some braincells.

I'll juse hope the 1st page, and some off the comments on the other pages, will be of some help to those who do not have r8 +10 as a bare minimum.

@Skai : Personally, I find aba boss really easy even if you can't kill it within those 20 sec. Well, SoT boss isn't all that hard either. I can tank both on my sin (with or without charm ticking depends on which buffs I got) and on my 3 base vit/sapphire gemmed bm (that doesn't have a charm). On barb, I don't even need a cleric...

But I don't just go by the principle that everyone has the same gear as I do. I ran both bh with cleric/bm/barb/sin in different types of squads, did some testing and found easy ways to kill them on my own. Funny thing is that there is a lot of QQ'ing about these bosses, on forums and ingame. Yet each time I, or others like KawaiiJen in this thread, post info about them with tips and what to watch for, thread gets filled by "all you need is +10 r9" and "you can easily aps them to dead". It's like that is the only thing most good-geared ppl know to do : "aps things to dead with +10~12 r9/5.0" (on a side note, most fail players I find these days have r9/g15 nirvana gear these days...).

I don't find SoT a charm ticker btw, unless my friend barb tanks it (full r9 barb that goes to boss and makes sure to fleshream it at least 10 times before bringing it back just so I won't get aggro off him easily) I get aggro off pretty much any tank on 2nd hit. I don't see it as a problem really. Usually boss is pretty much dead by the end off my skill macro and doesn't bleed again. Sometimes he does, because it's not a full squad and I just watch the bleed to spark it off.

Clerics that don't bb but use IH + sage vanguard (or demon SoJ) and purify (especially sage) really help. You should try that. With the extra phys def, togather with bm/barb buffs, the initial tick of bleed hits me around 6k and the next ones are around 1.8k.

But well, if you have someone help you with the first bleed when pulling (archer or summon/pet) and you keep timing for AD, you probably never get hit by bleed in a full squad (that will have at least 1 r9 +12 weapon since you are there).

Another thing I do, is to keep timing of next bleed to roar/alpha male on barb just to attract the bleed. Barbs don't really have to hold aggro the whole fight, just the moments that boss will do their bleed skill.

I don't have 1 fixed way to kill boss, all depends on the squad and the buffs I have at that moment. For me nothing really changed from the old bh. I usually just start bh and try to fill the 4 empty spots by the time I get to boss. Metal however, does take me like double the time to clean till boss b:laugh

Well, did my research and tested it out a lil bit. SoT Boss is easy as hell for a common Squad. Any Player with around 13k HP and somewhat 10k Phy def should be able to tank this easy Mode with a cleric at his back. Only problem is when boss stuns the cleric and BB drops...if you're not a Barb for Solid Shield, invoke or ToP or not even got IG, or DoSP or at least AD to give the cleric time to set up the BB again u prolly end up dead.

Thus said it's very easy for even the most undergeared Barb to tank this boss in a common Squad with a Cleric. All they need is a lil bit of skill and a good reaction time.

And for the Aba boss....if u cancel all attacks while he's buffed then he deals near to 0 DMG. Patience is the key on this boss.

Just one Mystery remains for me now...what is that 1-Shot thing everyone is talking about while aggroing the mob the first time =? Never got it, never saw it, nothing o.o

btw. the current main problem is not how to deal damage correctly, the problem is to find a tank who don't get one-shoted by the bleed...

What friggin bleed o.o ok 2 possibilities.

1. I'm just perfect pulling it anytime with Earthflame, while I have to say that I always go for max range and insta run back to the squad when I'm doing this.

or

2. I'm just plain lucky because I did aggro him first with flesh or devour and nothing happened anyways..

Could it be possible that those bosses just do the one hit if u try to tank them at place without pulling them away =?

But who would be stupid enough to tank them in place so you can't be ressed adequat when ur squad gets wiped...
