    Certainly seems to be an upgraded Protect. You only need 24000 contribution and a bit over 33 million coins for this skill (the only one I have access to so far, we're a smallish faction.)

    Well done. Without being sure, I assumed for 30+million coins it would be permanent. Still, thats a lot of grinding to cover the cost :)

    Still cheaper than the base was (I provided the lion's share of base creation and upgrade costs.) Mostly from merchanting.

    So it's permanent, and it's better than protect? Now if they just had a Strong in the faction base...

    33+ mil though? So would it be cheaper getting the real thing, or what? (sounds like it would be better getting this.)

    Yes, same icon as Protect, and it's still in Alaric's skill list after better than half a day. It's essentially level 6 protect (+180% mdef vs. +150% for Protect.)

    Can you learn the base buff pet scroll and Protect at the same time?
    Is it stackable? Has anyone tried?

    Seriously doubt it's stackable, buff icon is the same (the mdef yellow sun.)

    They do. You need a higher level thingy to sell it to you, though.

    You need vault 6 for strong. If I remember right it goes like this:

    Vault 3 = Protect
    Vault 5 = Reflect + Claw
    Vault 6 = Strong + Bless

    They all cost the same and all are slightly better than the DT versions.

    I call OP... That's exactly what I'd do for my eldergolth too though soon as faction base becomes LVL3+ b:surrender
    WTB PWI 2008 where people were thinking more about doing good rather than pretending to be.

    What exactly are you implying there? Hercules' price tag is dictated by gold price, which is kept high principally by pack and rep sales, not by the "greed" of merchants selling (or at least, trying to sell) SoF and feathers.

    I am exactly implying this:

    Since the Nix is unique (still), that makes it worth 9999 Phoenix Feathers.

    After the faction base came along, you can make a free pet stronger than Herc, making it just about worthless (even thou it is a useful pet still).

    I say the worth of a Herc as of today, is close to 1000 Source of Force (and I am beeing kind).

    My 9 Hercs are as of today approximately worth the same as the single Nix I own.

    By doing this, Perfect World Entertainment has betrayed it's long loyal customers (not a rant but fact), it has been very profitable for the company, so it's not hard to understand why they did it.

    If they don't turn the situation around (increasing the Herc capabilities), people will stop purchasing the Herc and just join a faction with base instead.

    You can skill up a free pet with the base scrolls, which may make it better than a stock herc, but you can also skill up a herc with those same scrolls, and it will be better than any "free" pet with those same buffs.

    I know that, and that is why the Herc is not worth 0 nothing.

    However, not all Herc owners (and many of them) are part of a faction that owns a base.

    These players (if they for any reason fail to join, ot just don't want to join a base faction) are missing out on the feast you are explaining.

    How do you (all of you) think PWE should meet all these players, that has spent alot of time or cash, to purchase a Herc?

    I wonder how much more a herc would be able to tank with the new buffs...

    Also lvl 100:
    herc hp: 4585
    magmite hp: 3259

    Dunno the hp of the walker at lvl 100, but I gues the herc has still more hp.
    I fail at maths, but 30% extra defense vs. 1.3khp? I gues the hp wins that.
    I personally think if you want to tank 2-3 wurlord (which is possible with 3 veno's spam healing a lvl 100 herc with RB on XD) you have better chances with a "normal" herc than an upgraded walker.

    I tried range tanking 2-2 Wurlord with my base-buffed eldergoth (forget if he and I were 96 or 97 at the time), and it got 1-shot after surviving 2 or 3 magic hits. Walker at same level has somewhat higher HP, somewhat lower MDEF, and would be getting hit with the melee as well as the magic attack.

    I'm going to try 2-1 Wurlord when I get a chance.

    are you using the range atack or eldergoth?
    if you are, just dont do itb:laugh the range atack of wurlord is just INSANE!!

    If you're not testing with Herc faction buffs on the Walker, I don't see the relevance to this topic, sry.

    The Walker has less HP granted but with faction buffs it will own a stock Herc in 1v1 i think, or atleast close to a draw.
