Why people take this game so much seriously?

    Eh generally when people talk about others taking the game too seriously, it's a gear jealousy issue. Or someone had a bad PvP day against someone with better gear....and we are back to the gear jealousy issue.

    There are legitimate health concerns to taking this game too seriously, but there's also the case, as was mentioned before, of people who have physical and mental conditions that mean they cant function outside of their homes properly. I'm friends with some people like this, and I'll be damned if anyone tried to tell them they cant do what they want with their time and spare money if they have no choice but to stay at home.

    It is ideal and healthy to have face to face relationships and encounters as considered the norm. But before calling someone pathetic and using the status of "having irl friends" to elevate one's self above them, one must think about reasons why other people may have nothing outside of Pwi. Have some understanding and some sympathy.

    important thing to note, there are alot of people that have had soo many bad experiences with friendships irl that they have given up trying to make friends irl so online gaming... instantly puts you in the same location as a bunch of other people that you automatically have something in common with (games) sets up those people who gave up irl to be able to make friends with the people in other parts of the country and world that they wouldnt normally meet or talk to.

    You say playing a video game is not part of the real life ? Do people stop breathing or eating or sleeping or feeling when they logg into their favorite video game ? I dont think so ! People get excited about their hobbys, i dont see a difference between a hardcore bavaria munich fan or a pwi fan.

    People take their hobbys serious, nothing wrong about it. For example i give a damm about soccer really but do i rub this a hardcore fan under his nose ? NO, because everyone can believe in whatever they want and dedicate to whatever they feel like. And if its PWI , there is nothing wrong about.

    I take this game seriously to an extent. I've played it for 3 years on and off, but I don't dwell over every single detail or have to have the uber gear ever. It's basically like another past time hobby for me. Music is one of my other hobbies and I take it very seriously. I will admit I don't have that much of a social life... I don't go to parties or mingle with many ppl around my age normally cause I don't have time, and because most of my friends from highschool or normally busy. My life is centered around my child, and my social life is mostly with the moms at her preschool which is 2x a week. So even if I'm logged in all day in pw, I'm mainly afk doing mommy duties, and then playing a little when I have a break.

    b:victory I say to hell with what others think do what makes you feel good. Doesnt matter what people do in life theres always gonna be someone who doesnt like it. Its the spice of life baby!
