You think I would waste my time hacking polls? That's a strong accusation. The community speaks for itself, if you do not like the result this doesn't immediately mean something shady is going on.

Like me, I too am powerless to stop myself from writing that I wouldn't quit because of high Gold prices.
In fact, it's kinda nice to see FB and TT runs where people are actually forced to work together in trying not to die, rather than just watching their health bars go back-and-forth like metronomes.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

It has been steadily high for a while. I was one of the ones who voted for it.
The way it is worded makes people want to choose it. Quitting over Gold prices is foolish. There are more significant reasons that might make someone want to quit.0 -
It bears pointing out that not a lot of players who quit are around to cast a vote or post an opinion.0

Im not even talking about new content. Im talking about fixing up the whole gear system that has been ignored for months. Its been an year already. How long till something is done? PWI Comunity is pushing 100+ and the 80/85/95 gear is still unavailable or poorly inserted in the game.
It doesn't sound like you're thinking this through. Reputation, sure because that system never changes, it just goes up (though they could make more reputation enabled items, so a current rank 8 is available at say rank 6). But, with new content comes new gear. Old gear becomes obsolete, and rather well... pointless. They don't have to "fix" frost/lunar/warsoul gear, all they have to end up doing, is adding new gear and the problem is taken care of.Also, stop handing out 'insult chests' (the ones that need hammer to open) as rewards. The vast majority of the players are in fact offended by these. There are smarter ways of taking money from the players.
This part I agree with 100%. I don't mind that PWI gives items out to make money, the game has to stay up afterall. However, 5 gold for 1 million coin is well... bad. These chests just pile up in peoples inventory, especially with gold prices as they are. I don't know how many people feel this way, but I did Frost last weekend and got two coin chests for it. I would rather have gotten NOTHING than gotten an item with negative value. I also don't like my reward being "buy gold". The implementation of these things is very poor, rather than being real loot they should be a bonus item in addition to whatever else you may get, and their value should be relative, shifting according to the gold trader.0 -

Oh and I've played multiple F2P games, I'd list them but I'm not feeling a ban. The game I played before coming to PW the economy NEVER recovered, over a year after I left and I hear that it has only gotten worse.
I'd like to remind you that you CHOSE to play a PvP server. No 1 forced you. And you do not have to have items in Pvp, however; having them will likely make it more enjoyable for you.eatwithspoons wrote: »You think I would waste my time hacking polls? Yeah, how believable is it, that people can actually read and write on their own? I mean really. The fact that at any given time there are probably at least 200 people on the forums (if not way more) and they see a topic that sparks their interest and would read it .. well thats just amazing.
What gets me is the fact that more than one person actually responded instead of writing down why they wouldn't quit.
//////SARCASM!
On topic, the gold prices don't bother me. I'd never quit this game as long as I'm entertained. I don't need the cash shop to entertain myself, so I'm here for the long haul.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Yes Brael, but is it a slap in the face? That's when we know they've gone too far.
To be perfectly fair, when they implemented these coin chests, prices were hovering around and below 200k/gold. The fact that the chests haven't inflated to go along with the gold prices though, is kinda sucky.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Mmmm, cash shop.
Well, the gold prices themselves wouldn’t make me quit. Or would they? Could they? People need to stop using the old, die-hard backup (well no one forced you to ____) fact is it’s there, and it’s bothersome. Is PWI greedy? Or are they instead suffering from a financial crisis they are unwilling to admit because it would demoralize their player base? Or.... is it something else. Genuine curiosity here. Because the way I see it, it can only be one or the other, the two take various forms and levels but they still are the basics.
And why does mention of this -othergameohnoes- make me think of the 360, PS3, Wii race that ended in.... well. Badness.
But with how the server territories are right now, I wonder how many of them can afford to just give money away, the gold may be getting bought solely by those 200 players in the dominating guild…. You think? O.O
But the sad truth is, prices only go as high as people will buy. You can’t sell; for a price that people won’t cough up currency for. So people are buying it…. But…0 -
I wouldn't quit because of Gold prices.
I don't play this game to win it. If there would be option "Win game" I wouldn't click it.
I play this game to have fun, chilling out with friends on voice chat, doing quests/FBs/PK-ing (soon :P)/grinding together.
As an addition, this game is 100% free-to-play. It's the only game I've seen where you can buy (100% legal!) "premium" items with in-game currency.
If I want, I can go grind for some time and then buy HP charm. Or Silver Mane. Or fashion. Or anything else. Just a matter of time.
About PvP thing. "Can't do PvP without charm". So all your gear, skills, days/weeks/months of using them, are worth less than an item which recovers your HP to full when it drops down below 50%? What a self-esteem b:chuckle
But don't worry, it affects all players. Soon almost everyone will run charmless and THEN we all will see who is good at PvP :]Packs World International0 -

Kinda makes you wonder how "necessary" a charm really is. I know clerics who wont be seen anywhere uncharmed, when a herb yuanxio recovers MP about 5 times faster than bb absorbs it and a full gold charms worth costs less than a third the price.
Players went crazy for a bit when tree was nerfed (admittedly even me lol) but we all managed fine without it before genies arrived. There are a wide variety of potent apoth pots that players don't even know exist.
Sometimes I get the impression if charms cost 10m apiece the hardcore tw players would still use them to give themselves an edge.
Need and Want are two different things.0 -

That's not actually correct. You will be charmless, cashshoppers will still be charmed. Which is the issue.b:chuckle
As for automatically recovering hp when it drops below 50%, in other mmorpgs, there are 3rd party utilities that does exactly that, they're called cheat engines, and people who use them are banned. Go figure.0 -
I never liked the charm system in this game, characters should be more durable to dmg and charms to be out .Having to kill some1 within 10 secs can be annoying and what's even worse it's relying on luck as well. Lucky crits on big moves to 1 hit, lucky crits when other is at 60% to bypass charm you know...things that limit skill and are based on gears/luck alone.
But then again charms are a way to make sure $$$ keep's coming ,I must say it's brilliant.0 -

Go ahead, do a TW without a charm or any refined gear, see how well that works out for you.
And it's not just PvP, see how long you can last in RB without anyone having a charm. Do the higher level instances like lunar without a charm, I bet that will work great for you.The only way to win is to quit. b:bye0 -

Uhh... how? One truth of all MMO's is that as time goes on, todays top end gear is tomorrows easy to get junk. Over time they'll either increase ways to get rep and start adding additional ranks such as 400k, 700k, 1.1m, and so on or they'll add additional rewards to lower amounts of rep, or both.
Todays top gear... warsoul, frost, lunar, warsong, and so on isn't going to be tomorrows top gear. New content will bring new gear with it, that's easier to get and on par with the current top gear along with new top gear that's insane to obtain.0 -

I completely agree. Change is one of the things that makes an MMO what it is, if it were completely static it would lose its attractiveness as a growing and changing world.
As for the OP : I also wouldn't leave no matter what the gold price. Gold Prices tend to be related to the amount of coin in the economy, so its natural that gold prices slowly rise over time as more people make it to the higher levels. Essentially, 6 months ago you made alot less coin than you do now in an hour of grinding, as do most other players. Hence the value of coin has gone down, but the value of gold for the most part has stayed the same (excluding some events like this anniversary event.) Therefore it makes sense that gold prices would rise.0 -

you can release new content but you don't have to directly intervene with player economy. today's stuff will get cheaper and easier to get as time goes on because there would be more of them around, but that is very different from just setting prices (ie: chip costs) and releasing stuff in boutique.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.
