That is the real problem in harshlands. Its why everyone hides and runs from ranked people. They do wet themselves when pixels come running. Im sure even you run. Perfect world has always lacked a good player base that will stand and fight.

Factions lose in tw to the same faction more than once then they give up any hope of winning. If a faction has a high winning streak then everyone waits and waits until they lose so they can roll over them without much effort.

Once Catalyst loses two times in a row you might be shocked at the amount of anger that will be pushed on them. Thats why im happy that they havent lose yet because it will be the best day in the history of harshlands when that anger comes.

So yea the people of harshlands are scared. Scared that they will get chained to a wall and whipped if they even try to act out. This is how I will always see harshlands as the princess that is waiting for someone strong enough to rescue from the great evil witch (catalyst). Good and evil.

Catalyst isnt evil but most of the people in pwi fear the whip that catalyst will use on them. Its to bad but so fun to watch how the cower in fear that for me is the best part of this game their fear of death.

I run because I'm a merchant. Each death costs 20000 hp off my charm, which at current prices:

20000/1.2 mil = .01667 = 1.67% of a platinum charm.

Plat charm costs 3 gold = current gold price (1100000 * 3) = 3.3 mil coins.

3300000 * .0167 = 55110 coins.

Thus the cost of a single death is a minimum of 55k coins, and this doesn't take into account that I need about 5000-10000 mana in order to bring myself up to a combat state. (I can go out with 0 chi/mana pet, but it will just get me killed which means another loss of 50k. Alternatively I can wait for about 5 mins to save myself mp by using my chi skill instead).

Add in the chance to drop my pots (vacuities are expensive) and the cost climbs to around 70k coins per death minimum.

Then consider the fact that the majority of R9 archers/sins can drop me in under 3 seconds unless I blow pots/genies etc and PK becomes an economically unsound investment.

I give killing a Valhalla or Catalyst member an "entertainment" net worth of around 25k coins. That is, killing wither of those members is worth 25k in entertainment value to me. However, since both members are always geared with full R9 +10 minumum, the chance of successfuly killing one of those members one on one is less than the chance of me dying without getting a kill.

Thus estimating that I'm only successful in killing someone 75% of the time I attempt it, the actual adjusted value of a kill attempt on Catalyst or Valhalla is 25000 * .75 = 18750.

Given those numbers it is easy to see why I have stopped playing the game.


Edit: For those few times that I actually go out to kill someone, it is because the entertainment value of killing that particular person rises above 100k temporarily, in which case killing them becomes an economically sound investment because of the inflated entertainment value.

Hmmm...one of the former major TW powers Afterlife is now reduced to clinging on to newbie island...

The formerly vast and majestic Vallallic empire is now reduced to a mediocre splotch of yellow colored blobs near the NE corner of the map...

Mayhem (formerly voted most promising young TW faction 2010) is still trying to hold on for dear life to it's little map presence(sp?)....

It does because most of the time this forum is boring to even look at.

You HAVE to have at least one lvl 100 somewhere on harshlands. There's just no way you can spend this much time on a forum for a game where you never even got a quarter of the way to endgame.
