    hm..I already installed the patch, but mine is in English on the server list...b:shocked

    you may be alone. my patch autoloaded just fine. seems to have been a fairly decent sized patch too.

    btw..i think fuzzy, on our server just before shutdown said the funniest thing about this week's male fashion:

    "..[sic]..it looks like a ho-mo spanish version batman costume." bwaaahaaahaaa

    Definitely don't have that problem on my end. Have you tried verifying your game files through the client?

    I just finished verifying and I still have the same problem. I downloaded the patch from http://pwi.perfectworld.com/download so not sure why the hell it's in chinese !!! b:shocked

    I have same issue and tried verify, but it didnt help any. I used automatic.b:surrender

    BUMP.

    Verifying does not help.

    Please investigate this, I cannot log on. I have tried all of the options, but apparently none of them is for PWI, even in Chinese. It is simply the wrong server list.

    I too have this problem. Verifying does not work and I cannot enter the game.

    Somebody needs to fix this. b:angry And hopefully they will realize they are losing sales and get on that.

    Edit: btw Kritty can you let Frankie know about this please? I was looking forward to playing today at some point... :(

    Some people manually applied it (like the OP I believe). Some, like me, used the automatic method. Still remains that there is a problem.

    Don't know if it will let me repatch with the manual, but I guess I could try that.

    For those of you who are getting the Chinese text and none of the other fixes are working, try doing this as a last resort:

    1) Go to your PWI game folder and open up the patcher\server folder. The default folder is C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\patcher\server.
    2) Open up the file called serverlist.txt using notepad.
    3) Select everything and delete it all. You can use ctrl-a to quickly select everything.
    4) Copy and paste the following info into the file:

    US West
    [EN - PvE] Archosaur 29000:pwiwest4.perfectworld.com 6
    [EN - PvP] Lost City 29000:pwigc3.perfectworld.com 5
    [EN - PvE] Sanctuary 29000:pwigc2.perfectworld.com 4
    [EN - PvE] Heavens Tear 29000:pwigc4.perfectworld.com 3

    US East
    [EN - PvE] Raging Tide 29000:pwieast3.perfectworld.com 20
    [EN - PvP] Harshlands 29000:pwieast1.perfectworld.com 9
    [EN - PvE] Dreamweaver 29000:pwieast2.perfectworld.com 10

    Europe
    [FR - PvE] Lothranis 29000:pwieu1.fr.perfectworld.eu 54
    [DE - PvE] Momaganon 29000:pwieu2.de.perfectworld.eu 55

    5) Save the file.
    6) Start up PWI. You should hopefully see this list instead of the Chinese servers.


    Hopefully this should fix your problem.

    different issue but still with patch, tried manual and it froze on "elementskill.dll"
    went to auto patch serv 1, same thing, so tried serv 2, also same issue same spot. any ideas?

    Try creating a txt file first with that name and paste those contents in it. Should be less hassle than uninstalling b:chuckle

    after updating I see all srver is on except US east (DW, RT, Harsland servers) until now I still can get in. I keep thinking that those servers are still maintained. So anyone already able to get in to those server?

    I tried that method that you set out on this thread.....and it didn't work.
    all it did was change the server names....i can click on all of them except for Dreamweaver, Lothranis and Momaganon. Even though i can click on the other 6 servers, i am still unable to 'select' that server to go back to the username and pass word entry screen.

    Any ideas? i kinda wanna TW this weekend and it's not fair that some of us for some unknown reason can't play because of a fail patch........

    Yes.... because not all of us are computer genuises like you and know how to fix this on our own. And because, after waiting for some kind of response for ten hours, I got pretty tired of it and did what I could.

    Reinstalling fixed the problem at least (and also updated my launcher, which had been stuck on the TB version).

    After looking further into the issue, it seems that the Chinese text is what the game defaults to when it can't find the serverlist.txt. At least that's what happens to me.

    I've also realized I made a small error in my previous suggestion. I forgot that the forum removes the formatting needed for the file to work properly.

    I'm attaching the serverlist.txt to this thread. You won't be able to see the attachment unless you back out to the list of threads and click on the paperclip icon next to this thread's name.

    If it does, simply drop it off into your game's \patcher\server folder.
