    The best way to tell is their reaction when you tell them to make you a bacon sandwich. If they say no and call you sexist, they're most likely a girl. If they say "lol okay! ^^ but only if you send me 5mil coins" then they're probably a guy.

    But seriously, like others say.. voice chat. Though, I'd rather go for a webcam chat. For all you know, some guy could have some girl pretending to be them on voice chat (especially if it's just a phone call). They could just watch the guy play and act as a commentator.

    I know there are fake webcam vid programs out there, but that's why it's got to be both voice and video. But personally, I don't care. Here to play a game, not find a girl. So I just follow 2 rules of the internet:
    -Everyone is male (unless proven female).
    -Every 15 year old girl is an FBI agent (that's okay though, I don't talk to underagers).

    I've been told I sound like a girl, so that wouldn't work with me, for one. (voice specifically) Women are usually much more easy-going however, that would be a good way to tell,but it's not a sure-fire thing

    Vent voices can be faked... I had a program at one time... Well a lil background story first. I was playing a game and my buddy and I decided we wanted to spy on another guild. So we made female toons and used this program+vent and it turned our voices into genuine sounding girls.... Hawt girls to... I listened to my own voice and I thought... Wow I sound hot... I woul *** meb:dirty

    ^ If they arnt allowed / supposed to be pleasing to the eye, then there should be 0 customisation.

    Most people seem to correctly guess I am a girl (and those who have doubted have heard me on vent)

    I find I can tell by body proportions. Big boods=/=g.i.r.l. all the time. But are the **** a proper size for the rest of the body? My assassin as the biggest you can make without hacking, but the rest of her body is proportioned correctly so that it looks good and natural. My seeker is just made how i think is pretty. I often get comments about how nice my characters look, and how pretty my fashion is.

    People can tell I am a girl because of the amount of time I put into making my avatars look pretty.

    My main character's an adorable female with a small rack (minimum or close to it), dressed in all pink fash with pink hair. On top of that, she's a cleric - you know, one of the girliest classes available.

    I'm a (100% straight) male. My "text talk" is very dry, slightly vulgar, and indifferent toward strangers. Do I get hit on? You bet. MMO players delude themselves very easily; the best way I could avoid this would be to have a big, obnoxious icon over my character's head that says "MALE IRL"

    I spent a considerable amount of time editing each character I play often, female or male, so the general attitude of "Only females really take time to edit their appearance so if it's ugly or has big **** it's a guy" is completely incorrect. Just sayin' o.o

    Never can be sure in game, but if you are here to game instead of looking for virtual relationships it really shouldn't matter. I am new here but played WoW for a long time and personally with my paladin I really didn't like the way male blood elfs looked so mine was female so was one of my priests. In real life I am actually a fairly large guy that is often told I am pretty intimidating so, like I say you never know lol.

    I have to agree with other players, What difference does it make? I play 5 male characters and 3 female characters and only 2 are of the same class (Cleric, but on 2 different accounts). I prefer the magic side but I do have a barb and archer. Oh, and no my female characters are the default ones and I am not a clothes horse. :)
