I met the woman I'd go on to marry from PWI last year. She flew into California a few times, got to meet family and friends, especially the handful of best friends a few blocks away who introduced me to this game back in 2009.
She is Canadian, in October we got married at the Santa Clara County, California courthouse. In February this year we found out she was pregnant. At that point I started selling a bunch of things and making arrangements in preparation for filing for permanent residence in Canada, and in April I moved to Canada to be with her while she was approved for sponsorship, and the first place we went to see was Niagara Falls in Canada. Next week she is in her 8th month of pregnancy and due late September, while around that time I will be a permanent resident -- 3 years upon my first entry will be a citizen.
Both of us still play (we mainly duo Nirvana and FF/RB/cube with friends), although in all likelihood our play goes down dramatically after baby is born and stops sleeping more than half the day. (at the very moment I post I'm making her perogies)
To reiterate, anything is possible in relationships, when you have the will.
Janus i remember you from another thread, i think it was from "real life couples" thread in off-topic i think. At that time i think you were still in the waiting game on your visa.

Nuh-uh we strongly dissagree on that one! For us it's country side Victoria. 8 horses, a goat, a cat and our 2 computers all on 78 acres b:victory

I've had similar thing happen to me in the game, although it did not last long sadly but I'm happy we got to meet each other and enjoyed all the love we shared for that brief time.
I hope it happens again and it lasts much longer. b:victory0 -

99.9% of PWI relationships follow this path.

Thing i might want to add is though.
Regardless of PWI's form, it being an MMO and E-harmony as you named, their all -just- "by means of".
Radio, TV, Internet, phones, social occasions, concerts, fairs, carnivals and festivals they are all under the catagory "by means of".
Whether i would have met solar in a bar, at a fair, a vacation i was having or i just bumped into him in the supermarket, it doesn't matter.
What does matter is the interaction you have with one another, all the stuff around it is superflouos.
Just because the internet isn't such a common thing and mainly the negative stories go around faster + make a bigger impact and are more commonly used to scare or make someone aware of the potential danger, makes people pessimistic.

Congrats! I, too, met my current boyfriend ingame. We're both in the same country, but completely different states. We waited a year before meeting each in real life and he's visiting for his fourth visit in a year in August.
Its difficult for us to meet one another as we are only 16 and 17 with no one hiring us to work for the plane tickets. Thankfully, his parents warmed up to the idea of me and him and payed for him to visit me... FOUR TIMES. Sadly, we do get a lot of odd looks from family, friends, and strangers as we are an inter-racial couple b:surrender

Let me start off by saying that i feel this is moreso a question/request to Frankie but i suppose also a general question.

I know that it is possible, cause with the FW newest expansion there is an action figurine available to be won as a prize.
Now i'm also aware that alot can be done with cake itself. But me and the fiance were hoping that if this were possible we'd have something as a memento to our weddingday (next to ofcourse the pictures and obvious ringed finger XD lol ) but also something to symbolize how we met in the first place.
Please do not pass this off as a poor attempt to talk to anyone with actual influence within PWI. Nor pass it off as a joke. I can asure you it really, really isn't!
Even if you could tell us why it could not be possible through you guys or what we could do through other companies or have to do regarding copyright issues?
It would mean a lot to us !

Hey Anima,
Congratulations on this amazing turn of events - it always blows me away when I hear about stuff like this happening.
As for the figurines, I'm afraid we don't have any connections to people who would be able to make them - the two PWI figurines that are in existence (Barb statue and Tideborn Mermaid) were commissioned by the China marketing team, and were meant to be created in fairly high numbers. To make a one-time statue of your personal characters is something that would be better suited for some kind of independent artist, I think. It would cost way less this way too, I would imagine.
I would suggest that you take a bunch of screen shots of your characters in your favorite outfits (make sure to take shots of the sides and back) and then see if there are any artists about who could make the figurines by hand with a slick little paint job.
About the copyright concerns, as long as you're not planning to mass-produce and sell them, I don't think there would really be any issue.

If you are looking for custom figure production be prepared to budget something along the line of high 3 digits... even possible 4 digits. Nevertheless... the first (cheapest) company that I can think off the top of my head would be Chuangle Product and/or Shenzhen Dianman. Both are located in Guangdong, China. They generally would do custom PVC plastic molding of characters of your choice... although you'll need to provide detailed pictures along with a pretty lengthy of dimensions and details for your figures.
